Help: power seats into non-power seat car

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Needed to changed the drivers seat in my Avant,
when hooking everything up, i realized the seat i got was power, where my car
    came with manual seats.
So naturally the seat doesn't move.

Is there a quick workaround for this situation?
    Any help is much appreciated.

    Thanks
    Dan

If all the wiring is there then you might need to install fuses in the kickpanels as they might be missing.

    Are you serious?

There is another thread about this on the first page. And if you search you will find many threads about this.

Come on people! Last night and this morning this forum is full of bullshit redundant threads by people that have been members for less than a year.... AGAIN.

The plugs should be there since your manual seat should have had lumbar support adjustments.
If this is the case in the lower left kick panel you will see a fuse just switch it to a 30amp. If the seat is completely manual, no electronic lumbar, then you'll have to find a fully manual seat or replace the component that houses the airbag sensor and do rewiring.

Easiest is to take pictures of the housing plugs.... Thath will be more helpful to the folks here

    Here are the floor connectors

Both of these pictures are drivers side

and kickpanel, i couldn't find any fuses here. Granted there is a plastic housing of some sort holding the wires together at the base of the carpet. Would it be under there?

From what i can make out, only one wire on the red connector is not plugged into anything (seat side)
But i don't want to experiment with hooking it into something.

The factory seats had heaters, but were not power (not even lumbar)
the replacement seat is all power and heated

And guys, while i understand that those who live in these forums get tired of seeing the same threads pop up. It is inevitable with new forum members.
It would have saved you a lot of time to simply copy and paste a link to a thread, rather than write out how people should learn to search. In any case, thanks for the feedback.

Why should I have copied a link if the link was on the FIRST page of this forum when you started this thread? If you read a few posts down you would have found it.

dude i get it, you don't like reposts/redundancy
Now if you can make way for someone who can help that would be great.
    The stuff in this thread

is about running new wires to the seat, i'm trying to avoid that hence the "quick workaround" in my original post

Okay. I spent less than a minute searching and compiling this answer. You happy now? I even put the answers in this thread so you don't have to follow the links. Next time, I won't even post anything and let you fumble in the darkness on your own and piss everyone else off more than you've bothered me today.

Search took 0.35seconds and the answer lies in the 6th and 13th post down from the top.

I searched under 'recaro seats' in the B6 A4 forum having the threads returned in a last reply first fashion.

All 'manual' seats in the B6 A4 come with power lumbar but manual up and down and forward and backwards. The chassis comes pre-wired for driver and passenger electric seats. So, all you have to do is plug the electric seats into your car and change the fuses.

I've removed the two bolts at the bottom of the knee bolster, but the panel doesn't want to fall out. Do I need to yank on it a bit, or have a missed a bolt or two?

Haven't even gone after the one on the passenger side - what's involved there?

    Thanks...
