VAG COM coding regarding the Symphony Radio

In my MK4 VW Jetta, when driving with the radio on and turning off the car, the radio still stayed on until one of the doors were opened. I LOVED this feature about my VW and the Monsoon radio. Unfortunately, my newely aquired B6 A4 does not do this; as soon as I turn the key to turn off the car, the radio turns off as well.

Having just acquired an ebay vagcom cable and the lite version of vcds, is there any way to change the coding for my Symphony radio so that it does this as well?

I have already enabled the remote convenience windows and am loving it!

The coding actually involves the Central Electric Control Module. My radio and windows still work until I open the driver's door after turning the key off. Review the CECM coding options.

I do not think this is a coding problem but a firmware problem.
I only say this because the US version of the RNS-E will turn off when you turn off the car while the Euro version of the RNS-E would turn off when you remove the key.

If you get a Symphony II+ it would also turn off when you remove the key much like the monsoon.

Yeah, I couldn't find anything as well after some late night digging. There must be a way to do this though via VAGCOM...

pkny, are you saying that the firmware in the radio is to blame? I guess it is out of the question to get it "reloaded" huh? Either that or just troublesome and $ consuming...

You can probably change the firmware but that would be troublesome. THis can be done via vag-com but I haven't seen Symphony II firmwares
