    AWD Dynos in Miami?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
For anyone looking, FlaS4 and I have gone to Fynetune in the past, but there is also Machines Gone Wild in case someone is looking for an AWD dyno... We're going to try MGW this weekend (Sat.) in case anyone else is interested, and we'll report back on our experience. I've personally called almost every tuning shop in Miami, and these are the only two places unless someone knows otherwise

We were actually going to AWD before we found MGW, but I the latter is much closer IIRC, AWD was like $110 or something w/ AFR... Champion and USP are also in Broward, but I don't think USP has an AWD anymore (???) and Champion want's $150 for (3) pulls w/ AFR ($$$).

I spoke w/ Greg @ MGW and apparently they charge $80 for three (3) pulls w/ AFR or $100/hr after that (with AFR too). They're open from 10am-4pm on Saturdays, but you have to make an appointment to get in.

I may not have my brakes bled in time to bring the car, but I haven't really changed anything since the last dyno session anyways... FlaS4 just got his 3" 034 DP's on, so hopefully he can put down some good stage 3- numbers!

AWD was $120 for the hour with AFR and $90 for 3 pulls w/AFR.

MGW was $100 for the hour w/AFR and its a lot closer to me in S. Miami.

USP only has a 2wd dyno now which idk why since they deal with Audi's, Porsches and some 4motion VW's.

I'm going tomorrow morning at 10:00 am for the hour. If you want to come and watch and maybe be able to hop on teh dyno afterward then come down. Getting 3 pulls on 93 oct. Then a cool down and adding some VP109 and see what happens.

    See ya tomorrow Joe!

FYI - Great experience this weekend! Greg @ MGW was super courteous and helpful, unlike the "other" AWD shop in town that seems to have an attitude problem... Definitely go see these guys if you're in the Miami-Dade area, and even Broward County although it may be a little bit of a haul for you guys . They're mostly an EVO/Subi shop, but they'll work on anything turbo'd and have an AWD/RWD dyno for tuning.

Oh and BTW: They only charged $80 for 3-pulls w/ AFR (even though we were definitely on the rack for longer than an hour), and Greg threw in an extra pull for free (4 pulls in total)!

p.s. Dustin, I owe you your vids/pics and logs... expect them 2-night.

Cool thanks man. Can you send me the instructions on how to post them again. I lost that email.

I would definately recommend them. Very cool guy and knew a lot about cars and very helpful. We probably stayed half an hour afterward and just talked cars with the guy.

They definitely are Not sure what happened to Fynetune, but they have had zero-sense of customer service as of late... MGW is the clear choice if you're AWD and in the Miami-Dade area.

Just out of curiosity Jeff: How come y'all didn't get a 424x Dynojet (AWD) when you decided to upgrade? Sorry to bust your balls, but considering all the different VAG cars you guys work on, you guys really seem to have limited your tuning capability / customer base now.

Well right now we just got the 224x 2wd since the 424 AWD is pretty expensive. This works fine for the time being, the only cars we really can't dyno in our customer range are quattro Audi's.. haldex TT's and R32's you just pull the fuse and they are 2wd. Porsche 996TT's can be converted to RWD relatively easily.. but most of our regulars already did the conversion anyway because they are better that way since the 996 AWD system isn't that good. We made a custom center diff to slap in our S4 so it becomes RWD to dyno as well. The nice thing about the 224 is it can be upgraded to the 424 later on down the road with an extra set of rollers and accessories.. so we are halfway to being able to do anything without worry.
