    whining noise on deceleration

S-Tronic, if it matters. If i'm cruising around town and let off the gas, there is a very noticeable whine when the car decelerates itself. No brakes are applied.

I haven't tested every possible scenario, but so far I notice it happens in gears 5, 6, and 7 at 60-65 mph and lower and it starts immediately when you let off the gas, and goes away immediately when you get on the gas. It's extremely annoying and I can hear it over the radio very easily. Anyone else have this?

Thats your car crying "Why did you let off the gas?? Goooo, gooo, punch it again, get those rev's up...lemme drink that FUELLLLL!!"

Or it could be the supercharger youre hearing.

I notice the same thing on my car. I didn't get a Cadillac CTS-V because the rear end whined at cruising highway speed just like my Camaro did and it's annoying as all hell. I didn't drive the Audi enough to pick up the whine it makes on decel, it's more subtle than the GM cars but still noticeable. I can't hear mine over the radio but it all depends how loud the music is. 8)

Just got back from a highway trip. This noise only occurs at 60mph and under, give or take 1 or 2 mph. It also happens in ALL gears. It sounds like it's coming from passenger side front, but who knows.

Is it really just the supercharger? Will it go away at all with more miles?

That noise is made by the gears of S-tronic, 100%.
    Same issue in Q5.
Been noticed and criticized by the automibile press.
Sorry for my English - I'm an ignorant Russian bear... just love Audis.

Wierd I hear nothing at 60.

It happens ONLY when you let off the gas and coast. As soon as you put you rfoot back on the gas, it immediately stop.s It's most noticeable from 60 to 50, and then it becomes more difficult to hear from 50 to 40. Below 40, it's extremely difficult to hear. It happens while braking as well.

Only makes sense that it's supercharger or s-tronic gear whine. Perhaps it will go away with more miles, only at 800 now.

I notice this when my audio is off. But very faint that I can care less.

An angle gear on an AWD will make that noise but you car is WAY too new for a failure to have occurred. I'd go with previous assessments.
