suspension noise after replacing all ctrl arms, tie rods, and sway bar links

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
i bought the front suspension kit and installed, and now my car makes a clunking noise on the right side when i go over a bump, similar to the sound of when my CA's were worn out

did i do something wrong? or is it possible that something is loose? everything was double checked but perhaps i did something wrong during the install

this is ironic. i had my bro's shop install h&r coils on my b7 and i have the same clunking sound in the front right. I had it checked and they say everything is good and they dont know why it does that noise.

thats weird.. the next day i have off im gonna take off the wheel to get a better look but everything looks alright.

i havent taken it for an alignment yet, but its barely off, and i dont see that being the issue anyway.

Check the upper and lower shock mounts, make sure the aluminum plate at the top is tight to the body, check sway bar mounts.

Probably the top shock mounting nut. Far too many people don't tighten this nut properly by using an impact gun. A loose nut here is very common with suspension installs, and always will cause a clunk.

x2 on the sway bar bolts they have to be tightened while under load. I did my front end and had a similar clunk and it was the sway bar.

My vote is for the sway bar links number one and the the upper nut on the shock number two.

    Try the easy one first...

X1000 on the sway bar links. If they are loose, that "clunk" is more than likely them. I had the same issue on the rear of the car and it was the rear links. Im putting my chips on the links. GL
