I have stage 3 with awe fueling kit and giac custom tune; PO tole me 190 ish but I only hit 150 near RL in 5th.....one more gear to go.

i think i heard stock gearing and stock rev limit combined in 6th would be 187. but you need power to get up there

250hp (265 Euro model) should get you to 155mph+. I wouldn't say too much higher than that though so the wiki 255km sounds about right on. Hell, the 12v VR6 in my wife's car (chip and intake only) is good for 145+.

i tried searching for that videos of some kids trying max speed on parents S4 and wrecked while at it and got it all on tape. ask them what they reached

It has to be more than that. If a little 185 or so bhp vr6 on a golf (worse aerodynamics because of the hatchback body) is able to hit 145mph+ (I know this because I did this) the better Aero and added Hp of the S4 is more than enough to break 145mph.

Sure, but what I am saying is its not going to be as fast once you reach 145 -155 as it was getting from 0-145.

hehe yeah. Why do you think the Veyron needs so much HP? :p

Still an interesting question to ponder though. I bought my S4 with a stage 1 chip so I didn't really have the chance to test a stock car.

I know what you mean. That's why I love the fact that my AR is still stock. Yeah, I know it's not in the same class so to speak due to it being a little more of a PIGGY than your s4 lol ..

ive had it up to about 150 stock with more to go.chipped i hit 160 with more to go.stage 3 ive hit 168 on the dot with more to go.but really what does it matter?

Yeah, I think I heard once that it only takes 6 or 700hp to make it to 200mph in the Veyron, but then it takes almost half that (300hp-ish) to get the extra 50mph... Crazy. The required HP at those speeds almost becomes exponential due to aerodynamics.

It's the same principal as to why most bikes start struggling after 150ish (except modded liter bikes, of course.... and even then).
