Cost to replace Automatic Transmission Pump?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
So, what is it going to cost me to have a shop replace the automatic transmission pump? I had the torque converter replaced while the motor and trans was out for my K04 build. When I was taken for a ride to test the boost guage, we drove approximately half a mile when the power stopped being delivered to the wheels. We are 99 percent sure the transmission fluid pump went out after talking to Sam at 517. My mechanic doesn't feel comfortable replacing the pump himself, so I need to find a shop that can do it in the northern VA (winchester) area and a rough idea of what it is going to cost me.

    Thanks.

Any shop suggestions? I have called a few places, and most shops don't want to touch it. The ones that are willing to quote me, I really only want to use as a last resort.

I am in northern Virginia. I haven't checked my codes, but I can pretty much guarantee what they will say...

Thank you for running VAG-COM Diagnostics! You're Fucked!

I was trying to avoid shipping the trans, but it is coming down to that. No shop wants to even touch the trans, let alone doing any work to it. I called the dealer as a last resort and they are only willing to replace the entire transmission.

To replace the pump the trans has to come out. The pump is directly behind the torque converter.

Yeah, there is nothing that can be replaced with the motor in the car. I am trying to avoid shipping the trans to a shop out of town, I know it has to come out of the car.
