1999 Audi A6 2.8 Quattro 2.8l misfire!!

i have a misfire when i go in reverse and randomly when im under 1500 rpms is this some kind of normal issue changed plug it went away for 1 day than was back

check the ignition coil n wires and the and the socket that plugs into the ignition coil

i have 3 coils 2 plugs off each

the 2.8 doesnt have "coils packs" per say it has one ignition coil

yea and the hwole thing is brand new cost me 200 plus 200 for wires plugs 30 on plugs

if i knew audi had this many issues with heads and plugs and if i knew wires would cost me 229 wires and stuff i woulda sticked with my American i can pull and put a new engine in a trans am in 5 hours

o and i have a cylinder 2 misfire and a secondary air injection low whats this mean?

ok so im still fighting this thing it happens worse when its hot more than cold i change plug n wire checked coils with timing gun changed coil same problem

it is only cylinder 2 misifre and its not all the time if i punch it 2 of 5 times it will drive normal the other 3 it will go full rpm but slower because the cyl 2 is missn randomly

what codes if any are you getting with the vag com or OBDII..


Other wise, how do you know which cylinder it is?

just cyl 2 misfire and o2 sensor 2 bank 2 no reading but i changed that 2 a while back still same problem

did you check you vac lines?

yea all vac lines are brand new if i pull that little one way restrictor flow after the cars been of for an hour i hear it go slurrrrrrrrrp for air

i just swapped the coil at the car store same thing so its def not the coil

any other ideas like if its the motor would it be constant because 65% of the time i punch it and its as quick as it was new

i changed the coil again and same thing ran fine for 2 days than back to misfire all vac lines are brand new any ideas this is killng me and all the $ i have

also i have a light saying "brake light" on my message screen and if my alt is only making 13.0v could this cause this random misifre? coil is new moved plug wires to see if moving wire moved misfire detected still same cylinder new plugs coil injector etc car ran fine for 2 days with new coil only missed a couple times

did the check the spark plug is installed right???? when i changed my plugs i got misfire 2 and 4 took them out and reinstalled them it went away

thought so to but the problem did not follow the injector and its not mechanical because when i down shift the auto and punch it goes like new

Audi a6 2.8 quattro 1999 .my car start shaking when i try to go faster and i get the check engine light flashing at the same time .mostly when the engine is hot and had cyl 2 misfire 11 times in 4 5 seconds.

HELP ! any ideas ?

still could be a mechanical issue with cylinder 2, possibly one of the valves not seating right. The computer doesnt track misfires over a certain rpm and running the car at higher rpm will help mask the misfire, smooths it out, more noticeable at idle. try leak down test
