aluminum/metal air intake pipe?

I recently put on a simple cone air filter and took out the stock airbox and I'm looking to remove the plastic/rubber air intake tube and replace it with either an aluminum or metal pipe so it makes the turbo alot louder. I'm looking for a cheap pipe that connects the maf into the turbo, any1 know where to get a cheap 1? I've thought about just building one myself cuz it cant be too hard, I'm just lookin to spend 30-40$ on just a simple pipe with a couple small bends in it to make the turbo alot louder, any1 know of 1?

Ya the one i have is a 90 degree bend coming straight off the turbo, the cone filter then sits directly behind the headlight...i got the pipe from a local auto parts store. its cheap and easy but it gets the job done, just about as well as the 300 dollar carbonio's and shtuffff..

yea same here i just cut out the part on the rubber tube with the ruffles and slid in an aluminum tube still need to work on a heat shield tho, or maybe get a turbo blanket

Awesome thanks for the link, i needed the diameter of the piping size, so i can just slide it on there and just put an adjustable clamp and tighten it down? Does it make the turbo alot louder? i know just the cone filter and without the airbox it got alot louder just off that. Is 2.75" piping the correct sizing to fit right over the turbo inlet?

I too, am at the rock bottom of my wallet, and am willing to partake in the cheapest mods available. This looks like something I will be willing to mess with as well. I am also planning on getting into some fiberglass projects on a motorcycle, so maybe a fiberglass heat shield will work? All I know is, I once threw in a cone filter for the hell of it, and the heat soak was unbelievable for me. The noticeable loss in power was not worth the added sound. A heat shield is a must.

Question- Why the hell do the intake pipes come from the factory as that corrugated rubber shit? Doesn't that hamper the flow of air? Shouldn't a smooth surface be the best for the intake in all circumstances. Also, because of the location of our air filter, why hasn't anyone messed around with a vented hood to add a cold/ram air effect?

im rocking the BSR intake with a heatshield..... i like it a lot!

if you want alittle more sound remove the hood blanket too! becarefull of heatsoak if your just rocking the cone, make an effective shield, i also cut a hole in my stock airbox to let the cone filter chill in there with all that stock piping
