Need help finding ALIGNMENT shop in CT- any advice welcome =)

Hey guys!

I know this has been asked before, but through search I haven't been able to find any particular information for my specific area. That being said- does anyone have any good suggestions for an alignment shop in my area? I live in Canton, CT 06019.

I just got new wheels/tires on (pix4clix below post ) and I need to get an alignment as to not eat up the tires! As is they are pretty loud and "wobbly" so I am trying not to drive it until I get this figured out. I am also lowered, so the place would need to be able to have a machine that I can get onto.

The ONLY place I know of is Town Fair Tire in Avon... which is expensive and they close before I get home from work so I'd have to wait until Saturday. Plus... I'd love to be able to give my business to a local place rather than them. They've been dicks to other people I know as well as myself in the past, and most of the people that I have encountered there don't pay any mind to anybody's shit.

So any advice would be greatly appreciated!! Close to my area would be great... but I'll entertain anything at this point. I also work in New Haven at Yale, so i COULD drive down here tomorrow and do it on my lunch break if there were a place worth going here. We shall see. Thanks guys

Thanks friend!! Been saving extra money here and there for a while, and been on the prowl for the right set for a while now... it's nice to finally have a set that I'm happy with

My friend gets his EVO aligned at Tire City in East Hartford on Silver lane and has not had a problem. I had them mount new tires on my 19" BBS wheels and they did a great job. I've had Hoffman Audi do alignments in the past but they have pissed me off to no end.

Hoffman:
1st alignment - summer 2007 - they scratched all four of my wheels

2nd alignment - fall of 2009 - they threw their hands in the air when my rear upper control arm eccentric bolt was frozen. tweaked tow and some other shit and made the alignment worse than when I dropped the car off. Didn't tell me about the control arm until I picked up. Upon that conversation they said I'd have to pay for another alignment when I come back with a new control arm. Fuck that.


I am still looking for a good alignment shop in the Hartford area. I may try Tire City.

Fairfield county motorsport is the way to go, they work on race cars and street cars, they did an great job on both my S4's for me

My local shop who is really good, does best in town. could not get the steering wheel straight and it pulls to right, and he scratched the rims. so SST, Fair field or that other one?

Ok so skipping Fairfield county. Been going towards SST. They have a system where the sensor is mounted to the tire not the wheel so the rims wont get scratched again. and they tighten everything with weight on the car. The right way for a audi.

Id go to NJ alot for work. Id go to your shop in NY but from the ride i experiance going to NJ through work I think the car would need another alignment by the time i get back to CT LOL

I've been to 3 Town Fair Tires, one of which was the one in Avon (I'm located in New Hartford). When I went to the one in Avon I made an appointment the day before for 4:30pm, they didn't get my car in the garage bay until about 5:30. Then they didn't even finish until almost 6:30 and gave me the run around every time I asked them for an update. Needless to say I would never recommend that particular one to anyone and would never go back. The other two times I went to different shops and I really don't have any complaints.

Zeller Tire in Torrington, however, will forever have my business as far as alignments, balancing and mounting goes. First time I went there I walked in and purchased an alignment right then and there. By the time I was walking out the door after I paid they were already bringing my car into one of the bays. Took about an hour for them to finish and were all around awesome. Went there a second time to have new tires mounted and balanced and actually made an appointment this time and was in and out in no time. I know some other people who have gone to Zeller and they all talk very highly of them.

P.S. since you live in Canton you've probably seen the black B6 in the Collinsville Savings Parking lot?

im going to go to SST. They seem to know there audi alignment stuff. Most shops dont do the tightening with weight on the suspension. And this throws the alignment off. So I've heard. So 125 4 wheel they told me. Ill make sure to post the results. unfortunately for me i need to change the rack out again first. Its got some dead center play and SST said it means its a bad rack because they are factory set.

Update: I went to SST in Danbury CT. Hands down best alignment I ever had in any car. Got my vote.

tolls and the almost 3 hour ride one way, plus gas, plus cost of the alignment just doesnt make good money sense. But thanks Nice Lambo, put out some good numbers?

Went there today for an alignment. I wouldn't waste time with any other tire shop in the area. Fetzer knows what they are up to and are a "local" Fater/Son business.
