Our aluminum subframe mounts will keep your suspension geometry and alignment specs in check under the most abusive situations. The aluminum bushings will create a noticeable increase in road feel, noise, vibration, etc. This is a small price to pay, in my own personal opinion, for the added benefits of the direct connection created with the rest of the car. But I would label this for the upper level of people who track or really abuse their car (people already running a complete line of track density or similar mounts).
If you are concerned about vibration and not out at the track every weekend or "hardcore", the track density version of the subframe mounts can really breath a lot of new life into your old 100k+ B5 chassis, while still maintaining a real driveable comfort level. You can replace all the suspension arms, motor mounts, etc on your car...but if your connection of the subframes to the main frame remains soft and beatup you will always be applying one band-aid after another.
But yes, I agree and suggest doing this type of modification when you already have the engine pulled in order to facilitate removal of the old bushings. As mentioned above, removal of the old mounts isn't quite as simple as a hammer, but it isn't as bad as I feel some people make it out to be.
