    Medical Waiver for Tint (MD)

    Hi,

Just moved here from CA, had to get my tint removed for inspection. I recently got lasik and I see halos at night around headlights lights. Does anybody know how/whether it's possible to use this to get a medical exemption for tint limits?

I've searched around a bit and see a lot of posts saying that it's possible, but not a whole lot of people saying how. Searched the MVA site for "waiver" and "exemption" and found nothing.

    Any ideas?

    Justin

I had a medical wavier in Delaware...was the easiest thing to get in the world. I said that I got migraines from bright sunlight and didn't like wearing sunglasses or something to that effect. That was for my first car, my next two I just went to the doctors office and asked if they could get me a signature for my tint waiver and the secretary just stamped his signature on it lol

With lasik surgery you should definitely be able to get a tint waiver, I'm pretty sure the reason doesn't really matter as long as your doctor agrees to sign the waiver. Good luck.

Most states around here need a waiver for any tint on front windows and anything on windshield below the AS1 line. I'm form Delaware and the front two windows aren't legally allowed to be darker than 75% - which is like a slight hint of color lol and your eyebrow is not permitted below the AS1 line..I think even with a permit its not supposed to be below the AS1 line but if you have a waiver guys at DMV will usually let you slide.

even if you do get the waiver, be ready to get pulled over more than usual. Here in VA, cops tend to give out tint tickets like its candy

5 years in VA and I've never gotten one (only 2 of those years in NoVA, the rest in "real VA"). One warning when I was being ticketed for ................ something else. I got ticketed in Chicago MUCH more often.

and this has been with limo tints on 3 cars and 20% currently on my S4.
    My WTB List:

Yeah I think my doctor will approve it, I'm just not sure whether there's some form I should get or if I should just type up a letter.

I'd like to get maybe 75 on the front and 25 everywhere else, but I guess I'll call the tint inspection people or something. Can't get through to the DMV.

Did you go to your eye doctor or your family doctor? I am sure my family doctor would do it with no questions asked but I do not have a current eye doctor.

So your car was registered out of state? I would have told that cop to fuck off
