How to reset Service indicator using Vag Com?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Just had my oil changed by independent shop. Reseted my oil indicator through the MMI but was informed that resetting the service indicator is through Vag Com. Anyone know the steps/codes using Vag Com cable in order to reset the service message?

On Ross-Tech's VCDS Manual site they now write:
On the latest cars using UDS/ODX diagnostic protocols for the Instrument Cluster, the SRI Reset function does not apply. Instead, SRI must be reset by saving Adaptation values. Please contact Ross-Tech via email if you need assistance with this function.

This DOES NOT WORK for a B8 S4 in case that is your vehicle.

I was able to re-set my service interval to say 10,000 miles or 365 days, but it still shows up when I start the vehicle and turn it off. In this respect, VAG-COM does not accomplish one of the main reasons that I spent the $300+ on the product, Other than that, the jury is still out. I will keep you posted.

Anyone have any insight on this? How do I remove the Service interval warning?

In VAG Com just open the SRI reset function on the opening screen. Otherwise the dealer will have to do it.

I agree, I was always able to do this on my 2010 S4. It's been awhile, but I recall having to change the setting, then hitting the "Do It!" Button.

I have the same issue with the service indicator stuck on. Will try the suggested vag com fix tomorrow morning.

My VCDS has a drop down menu in adaptations of module 10. Took 2 minutes to reset these and now the annoying "ding" is gone. There are drop downs for time and miles since last inspection that need reset to zero.

Don't you have the SRI Reset button on the opening screen? See ..

I do have that and had tried it multiple times. It wouldn't reset the inspection interval though. I couldn't get it to clear until I did the above this morning.

I just did mine this morning, from the main menu run the SRI reset then from the pull down choose option that applies, in my case reset service USA only and then hit do it and finished....

I also did this today for the 15k service, 2014 A4 models still work with the main menu SRI option, happy to say.

I chose the Service reset (USA) option and modified the following:

Set the Oil Change distance to 120 (12,000km) which is ~7500mi.
Left the oil change time interval at default, 365 days.
Set the service distance to 320 (32,000km) which is ~20,000 mi
Set the Service time interval to 730 days.

That way I get notified for oil change after 7500 miles (and can reset the notification in the MMI) but won't be bugged about service until the 35K service interval.
