    16" Rims and Tires for 2009 A4 B8?

    Hello all,

I'm getting some really mixed messages about winter tires and am looking for some knowledgeable advice. I picked up an '09 A4 2.0 Litre with stock 17" tires on rims. I like them just fine, but I live in Ottawa, so I need winters.

Now, I also received nokian hakkapeliitta 225/55/16 on no rims.

Q1) Will those nokia tires fit on my Audi with 16" rims? Concerns about fitting over brakes?
Q2) If they do fit, can someone point me to some decent replica or 3rd party alloy rims? Budget say up to $200/rim.

Searching on Tiretrends, Tirerack, 1010tires doesn't give me an 16" options.

Ottawa eh (same here)? Get it MM? or private?

Really want to go that small? yes great for pot-holes, but, I wouldn't even consider going smaller than 17 on the B8.

Price - check on classified, there are some good deals on some stock Audi rims for 1000 or less for a set. Slightly used but they are for winters..

I was told that 17 was the smallest wheel I could install on NA spec B8 A4's......if you go that route the proper fitment for consistent stock diameter would be 225/50/17.

Would you ever want larger than 17's for Spring/Summer/Fall? If so, I would recommend using your stock 17's for winter and buying a dedicated set of summer wheels in a larger size.....better performance/looks.

Also keep in mind that B8 A4's have a different bore size ~66.6 compared to older generations 57.1.

good call. 19's are fine for Ottawa roads, just have to be careful of some roads and go slow on the bad roads. 17" summers on the B8 do look a little tiny.

Doc at Tirerack has confirmed that 16"s will not work on the B8 due to brake clearance..

OP: there's no way 16's will fit over your brakes. 17's is as small as you can go.
