Lets not jump to conclusions here, until there is review of them, you can't say it's not doing it "right".

I'd like to get a stasis SS set-up, however I can't justify spending that kind of money on coils at the moment.

Also, for my particular needs, all i want is to go low for a couple of months, i'll invest in a really soild set of coils in the future.

Sounds counter productive to waste money once, when you know the product is iffy, and plan to "invest in a really solid set of coils in the future". But that's just my .02

I cant find the thread, but I saw KW has a new coilover I think it was green in color, but it was very reasonable price wise like 700.

My cousin's buddy just had this installed on his MK5 Jetta, he says it rides like stock and it doesn't go that low. Not sure what the coliovers lowest ride height is measured at, but they had the coilovers set on max and it was about the same height as my old USP suspension. So, not worth it IMO.

I'm going to have to agree with the above, for the amount of work to remove install, I would just save the $260 towards the Stasis SS and do it once with a proven set-up. It is your money and time though so it is ultimatly up to you.

We use them on all of our MKI and MKII cars...our tech swears by them and they drop extremely low on those cars. I'm not sure about the newer cars but they are pretty agressive for the older cars. Not saying you should get them but I know that we have put them on a bunch of older cars and they definately do the job

If you really want to go cheap, Vmaxx aren't bad at all. I've had mine for almost a year now, and they still ride pretty good, almost close to stock ride, but it goes pretty damn low. My tires are tucked about 3/4 into the fenders and the coilovers still have about an inch and a half left to go. They get a little bouncy at about 180 km/h, which I'm fine with since I'd like to slow my driving down a little lol. Besides that, they're pretty awesome for what I paid. Not sure how they measure up to Stassis, but I do plan on switching next year just for the sake of trying something a little more refined.

I only got the vmaxx ones because I got bored of my car and needed to do something to it 3 months into owning the car. I didn't expect to be wowed by them, but they've done a pretty good job—handles well and overall ride quality is pretty good.

Your cousin with the MKV must be doing it wrong... I have these on my MK3 and they go low for sure. But the ride sucks if you are going to be super dumped like I am, at a modest drop the ride is very nice. In the winter when i raise the car it is a night a day difference. They are not stainless steel so lubing them up frequently is necessary, they are better than VMaxx though but not by much.

    JA4,

I just ordered the V-Maxx's. After reading the reviews, and the top notch customer service Strat offers, it seems like a no brainer (considering the price as well). The warranty seems very good aswell, they just charge you a core fee and send you a new shock, you send yours back and they refund the core fee. You just have to pay shipping.

    MK5?

Yeah, 2 generations apart from the MK5—different car, different setup. Things aren't always the same when comparing cars that are years apart.

Good to hear... Not sure how or what your expectations are, but mine were certainly met when I bought mine. Hope it works the same on your end.

    Raceland Coilovers?

I had racelands on my tC and for a $300 coilover setup my car was smooth. Better than stock IMO. But then again, this was a tC, not an Audi.

There are lots of reviews online spanning many tuner models and the common answer is that they are cheap, and dont last.

I had Rokkor make me a custom kit (E36 springs on Audi shocks) for my B5 Passat, rode awesome considering they were < $300 shipped.

I'd probably put them on my B6 if they had a Quattro option.
