To celebrate Dubois' Quasquicentenial (1885-2010), They will be hosting a car show at the local park in Dubois on September 4th, Labor Day Weekend.
The owner of Butchie's Restaurant and Bar has had this in the works for almost a year now. He has a 2001 Corvette that he has done a few things to and regularly enters it into shows. He has spread the word to a bunch of people already over the year about it. So far, they have done pretty good with it. Every Wednesday since December, they have met at the bar and held a meeting for the judges on the car show on things they should work on and new ideas for the show. They have about 15 judges, ranging from 20's to 50+ years old.
This is rain or shine with live entertainment Friday and Saturday night.
Pre-registration is $12 for car/truck and $7 for motorcycle.
Day of Show Registration is $15 for car/truck and $10 for motorcycles.
This is 15 minutes from Jasper and 15 minutes from French Lick.
Also to point out, this is in a shaded park. That means no baking on hot black-top all day long.
Opens at 9 AM to Noon and Awards are at 3:30 PM. (2:30 Evansville time)

Yes, there is a seperate class for the mustang guys, so they don't hog all of the trophies

They have a website for the show where you can pre-register and has other info like directions and lodging. http://duboiscustomautoshow.com/Home_Page.html
On a side note, this would be a great place for everyone to show off what all we have done with our cars at the end of the summer. And afterwards if everyone is up for it, we could hit up the indoor karting at French Lick for some "friendly" racing.
If people are interested in this, I can give you some more info. I'm trying to help them out with this and spread the word. I'd like to see this do really well.
