I can’t believe how lucky I am to have such good friends. Last year my wife I went to the Audi Sportscar Experience
and we met a great guy who just loved his V8 R8 and was waiting for his new V10 R8. Of course we kept in contact
and when he told me he had decided on Velvet Purple, an Audi Exclusive I got excited. Here we are and the Velvet
Purple Exclusive R8 V10 has arrived and I have a comparison article between his previous V8 R8 and the new V10…

I knew the color combo wouldnt appeal to everyone, but in person its just stunning inside and out. The Purple looks nearly black at night, but in the sun you really see the pearl in the purple.

Wow did he pick up that car from Sunset Audi? I was there asking them about ordering and allocations on the v10 and they said they didn't have any and it would take over a year to order/build.

I normally hate Purple cars (especially in the nSX as it looks old) but I have to admit on the v10 R8 skin it looks amazing. Thanks for the article, will have to read it later tonight.

Bought car at University Audi in Seattle - ordered in Sept 09, delivered June 2010. Painfully long process waiting especially since made a rather bold choice on colors - had never seen one and the only color sample was a small 2inch x 2 inch sample from Audi. Got even more worried when the person at Audi Exclusive said "wow, we've never done one in that color before!"

Well worth the waiting - wouldnt change a thing.
