Display Speed in MFD (Multi Function Display)

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hi guys,

I have just finished helping my brother in law buy a 2007 A4 from the US, to import home to Canada. I know on my B8 A4, the MFD can be configured to display the current speed. Is this possible on the B7?

    I have a VAGCOM cable, if it's a back-end fix.

    Thanks!

I haven't heard of this capability. I think it's just capable of displaying average speed.

You have to have the color display if I remember correctly. You switch it with the cruise control lever. Not the red illuminated one. Blanking on the official name of the display. Lol.

If you have the Symphony II+ radio, closest would be to get the speed displayed on the radio display itself - Module 56 Radio

I've played with that module few times before, but despite making several attempts, I could never get the speed or time to be displayed on the radio. Anyone succesfuly done this?

The digital speed display on the B8s sure is a nice little feature.

Yes - it's working on my Symphony II+ on 2008 A4 Avant. You need to use the Menu button->Speed option->On/Off; Speed displays on the Symphony radio screen, not the DIS/MFD screen in the instrument cluster; if I don't have the speed display On then either the radio station frequency or RDS info displays on the radio screen depending upon the state of the Info button.

Also enabled this on my Symphony II+ at one point, but could not figure out how to change to MPH from KMH for those of us in the states. If anyone knows a trick for changing it to MPH please post.

That's the thing, I don't get the speed option when I press the Menu button, I only get the speed volume compensation and the audio volume when radio is turned on option. I have an '07 sedan with symphony II+. What gives/

My radio coding is 0650102 (Bose & Sat Radio) and adaptation channel #2 is set to 1. What are your settings? My Avant is also coded to Rest of World, not US or Canada.
