That's pushing it. Run 225/40 for stretch, 235/40 for clean match.

I run 225 on my 8.5's. A lot of people run 225 on 8's. I'd say def go with 235's

it can probably be done, but that is definitely pushing it. If they were 9 inches wide I'd say go ahead no problem...although I have a friend with 17x9's and he has 205's on there...so you could probably get away with 215's on a 9.5...I'm not saying it isn't a bit risky though..even if you're considering load ratings, etc..

You Quattro? You will def be pushing it with the 215 on the rears if you want it to have a clean look to match the 215 on the 8" width wheel up front. I say 215 for the fronts (18x8), 225 for the rears (18x9.5) for the stretched look. And be cautous of the rolling diameter if you are Quattro.

I'm going to be ordering 215/35/18 for my 18x8 setup and thats a pretty good stretch, a 215 on a 9.5 seems like its really really risky.

Look around on http://www.tyrestretch.com/index.php it should give you an idea on what it's gonna look like. It's safe to run, it just depends on the look you are going for. What are the offsets on the wheels?

another good site for stretch etc is:

    http://www.willtheyfit.com

i know sounds a little ;) but it's not. a lot of my friends in the VW scene use that website to gauge which tires to buy.

    I ran a 205/40 on 9.5 no problem....

If I can recommend a tire...you will love the way a Falken 512 looks with that set-up if you want stretch. 215/40 on a 9.5

    Here is a falken 512 215/40 I ran on a 9" wide wheel..

What wheel are you running in a 18x9.5? I need some wide wheels and haven't found a whole lot of options. Send me yours and I'll fit some 285/30-18 to them...

Waaaaayyyy too much money. Thinking Velocity v710 in 18x10 bmw fitment redrilled and powdercoated. Should cost about a third of a set of Works. Although Works go better with my license plate...

anything smaller than 235 would be a crazy stretch. i have 235s on a 9 inch wheel and its already stretched. so on a 9.5 inch wheel its going to be really stretched. 215 is suicide.

online tires has great pricing for tires too.

    onlinetires.com

I just bought some delinte d7 for $270 shipped for 4 tires. I know "delinte...wtf? who is that?" I have no idea either but my buddies who have a built STi and supra's etc. only buy these tires, not to mention they're only $58 a piece at 215/35/18 so no complaints from me.
