IMO the Stasis is too tinny. Go with the AWE + downpipes if you want a great sound.

BTW do you have a 6MT or Tip?

I had both exhausts and still have the awe now. I had the stasis with OEM dp's and now have the awe with awe dp's. The stasis is a nice exhaust, its less louder outside the cabin and louder in the cabin than the awe. I switched because i wanted something louder plus i wanted black tips. The awe sounds awesome imo but it may be too loud for some. The tips on the stasis tend to stick out more than the awe as well.

They are both good you should go by preference on the sound.

The Stasis is definitely the quieter of the two exhausts. It really just depends if you want a quieter or a louder exhaust. If you're interested in the Stasis, let me know and I can get you a quote.

Thanks for considering our exhaust system for your car.

Here are some things to consider about our system.

    1) Our system is hand built to order by our in-house Fabrication Department. Each system is also given a personalized serial number badge like the one you see here: http://www.awe-tuning.com/media/prod...rial_badge.jpg

    2) We give you four tip options to choose from (80mm Straight Cut Polished Silver Tips, 80mm Straight Cut Diamond Black Tips, 80mm Slash Cut Polished Silver Tips and 80mm Slash Cut Diamond Black Tips) so you can choose the one that best fits your style. Also, our tips are individually adjustable so you can set depth into bumper and stagger to your taste.

    3) You can use our system with your stock downpipes or with our downpipes. Utilizing the stock units will keep the sound levels down while our downpipes will liven things up a bit. Either way you'll still get that same fantastic engine note that our system is known for.

Let me know if I can help with anything.

Neither are approved by AUDI USA, but what I was told is that if you change a component out the warranty is void for that paticular part, so either way you are replacing stock for something non Audi, but it is brand new...

IMO, i wanted an aftermarket system to make the car sound as good as the V8 would let it. The stock system has 2 silencers -so it had to go- as nice as it sounded it had no presence. I chose AWE over other choices because of the sounds of the clips and the words from other owners - and I am happier then ever with the way the car sounds.

I chose the full system, and at low RMP she rumbles just enough to let anyone know this is not just another quite audi, but at about 2,000 RPM the sounds pick up and resonate an F1 like burble through the cabin that you cannot ignore. At full pedal even at low RPM this system outright rocks, and once I even set off a car alarm from a parked Merc B I was next too and pulled away from. Its 100% worth it and I would do it again. The S5 puts a smile on my face already, but starting this up and driving her through tunnels at full wail wakes the dead and takes names.

One of the things you dont find with some systems, at cruise speed or even set- speeds if you are not hard on the throttle you dont hear this as loud, they did a great job tuning this exhaust perfectly but also to respond in volume to your pedal effort. Once past the initial exceleration if I am at speed this system is not as nearly as loud as that initial kick, and she is very refined on the downshift as well, softer but you will still know you are NOT driving any ordinary Audi.

Good luck on your decision, either way the car will sound better louder because its too quite for all that power; this is a sports car and audi is trying too hard to make it luxury first- sport second, I like that I am in somewhat unique in the marketplace and now even more unique next to other S5's.

huhh... question for you scubadude. Do you have just the AWE exhaust or you have the downpipe as well? From your post, it sounds like your setup is really loud. I'm considering ordering a 2011 and i'll probably be stocking up on mods while waiting for the car to get here. Exhaust is one of the item on my list. However I'd like to keep the noise level fairly reasonable because it'll be a daily driver.

I also use this for DD, and i have the full system from AWE: DP and Cat Bac. It's louder with the DP for sure, but you can control it somewhat from how you drive. I wouold suggest going the AWE website they have clips from both inside and outside of a 5 series modified with both the partial and the full systems. Its worth a comparaision if you are not sure how loud you want this to be. Its loudest in tunnels of course but even flat out with the windows closed its far from deffining, its all a matter of taste and how much you want to hear the car. Good luck.

My advice is that if you are going to consider awe's full system first get the catback and then if you still wish for more sound then get the downpipes. That would be the way to go if you are not sure how loud ou wish to make it.

Having worked closely with both systems, long term durability goes to AWE. We've seen numerous problems with Stasis system experiencing cracks. They both sound great, but I recommend the AWE kit.
