pullthe barrery and tray and pull all of the leaves and crap out of the drains. Then open the doors and clean ojut the rubber drains in there for the sunroof. Blow air down sunroof drains to clear them out. Should do the trick.

It helps to clean the rubber lining/ seal around the sunroof. Due to extreme heat/ cold, that lining will become hard and not close 100%, letting moisture through.

Run a search for the following:

    water ingress
    battery plenum
    sunroof drains

The typical spots for a leak are under the battery (easy fix), sunroof drains clogging with debris (more difficult), under the cabin air intake filer (pita), under the ECU box (pita), and then of course the very uncommon spots that could be anywhere. I suggests you first check under the battery for pooling water, if you find it, poke the drains and remove the debris and you're done. If that is not the issue, open the sunroof and look at each corner of the tray for organic debris, the rear drains are quite far back as the tray extends several feet behind the rear edge of the glass. The felt liner that surrounds the glass is designed to allow water to pass through, it is not supposed to be watertight (hence the four drains).

If you look at all of these and find nothing, then remove the kick panels in the front footwells (quite easy) and sit in the car while someone sprays the windshield with a hose, and watch for water. The searches will provide more information about these fixes. Good luck, water ingress is a PITA.

My read of the document is the lawsuit only provides for possible, repeat possible, reimbursement of replacement of water damaged items, not maintenance.

Back to the initial issue, that smell is probably mold and mildew and is probably in the carpet somewhere. Do what lookaught said and then also feel around on your carpets for damp carpet. That will tell you where the issues is also.

You may already have some mold or mildew build up. Use something like odoban diluted to try and cover it.

You are referring to on the carpets or a/c vents? Never heard about "odoban"; where can you purchase?

Just cue-ing into this. The last few weeks my car has become very "moist" (my least favorite English word). I only drive it on the weekends, so otherwise it sits in the driveway.

Today- damp carpets and musty smell. Hmmmm...
