    I had an MS2 on my Miata and loved it. Incredibly inexpensive, powerful, and adjustable.

    That said, it was PNP for the Miata, which made things easier.

    In defense to 034 and myself, I purchased their Stage IIc 5 years ago. It was great at the time. Sadly, there has been no reported or rumored progress on a new system with no revisions/updates on the existing firmware and software since 2010. Many current systems that have the same price point now have Bluetooth compatibility with Android, auto tuning features among other useful tools. On the other hand, it works and works well for my needs. If I switch to a different system, I have access to an Autronic SM4. It won't be til the end of the year if and when I make the switch.

    Autronic is tough... Not on my short list unfortunately. Many of their systems support limited comm ports which require an aged OS/machine or a virtual machine and custom settings. Not nearly as easy as other options. I have a friend with Autronic on his vrt Corrado and we still haven't been able to get into the aged DOS comm port 2 to tune. He's trapped at 12mpg until we can get the Autronic to talk through higher comm ports... To allow us to tune.

    I used autronic for 6 years 100% reliably with a Radio shack COM to USB converter.

    I use these at work to physically connect to our Cisco switches. We had some garbage ones years ago, and I replaced them all with these since I lots of experience using them before at other jobs and it is what I used to connect to DSMLink for years during my DSM days.

    i have two Autronic SM4's. one for each drag car. so i have to keep an old Win 98 machine around. no big deal, i have two. a main laptop and a backup laptop in case there is issue with the main or i forget it or whatever. cheap ass $50 Dells that do their job flawlessly. always leave the backup in the trailer with the car.

    and i love both of them. both also are paired with the CDI-500r.

    are there better things out there? of course, there always will be something better.

    look at the Vipec, and notice the advertisements. they look very familiar to the Autronic stuff, no?

    you can always drop $20k into Motec if thats how you want to spend your money.

    Not saying Autronic doesn't function because it does... Just not as user friendly as others.

    I keep a Bluetooth radio attached to my MS unit and an app on my Android phone for logging in when I want... Full tuning capability on my phone. No laptop anymore... No cables or hardware manager/virtual machine window. A smart phone. Under $500.

    I'm sticking with my 034. I've read and re-read the tuning manual. I took it out of the car and connected it to a power supply and played with it for days. It's actually quite intuitive. They even have a feature that let's you hover over a field and it clues you on how to adjustment that particular field.

    About two years ago I bought both Greg Banish's Engine Management: Advanced Tuning and Motorbooks Workshop's How to Tune and Modify: Automotive Engine Management Systems. I've read them both cover to cover and I believe I'm ready. I have some resources that I can utilize locally and in Texas (you know who you are LOL). If I take baby steps, and purchase a EGT and a knock detection system, I believe I can get the tune down pact on a dyno. First I will road tune to get it within 85% and finish tuning for MBT on the dyno.

    I bought a external cooler set up with 180 degree thermostatic control, among "other things" to install for this year. This is the first year where I can go start the car in the Spring and drive it since this project started. I'm ahead right now and it's uncharted territory. Believe me, I'm always nervous, but for the first time in years I'm excited as all hell.

    FYI: LMT's dyno is on discount through the end of the month. $50 for 3-4 pulls is what I read. I'd bet Jeff would be willing to give you a block of time like he did with Ryan. I doubt you'll be pulling her out in this weather though. PS- Let's meet up for a drink soon.

    As far as I know, they will. The owner put it out on FB last week. Only problem is today is the 2nd to last day of the month already. Also, that price may have been for 2WD but they do AWD too. That's where I dyno'd locally.

    All of my parts have either arrived or have already been modified for reinstallation this weekend. Hopefully it will be running by the weekend. I still have a couple of tricks up my sleeve, so it won't completely ready but operational at the least. The track opens up next week, but my goal is to take it down April 4th. I have some Milwaukee Peeps coming with me, and I'm inviting the Illinois Peeps too. The goal is to have a few track meets, GTG's, etc and just have a fun summer.

    I had a little time this weekend to play with the scalar and idle adjustment. The current set up is Genesis 2225cc injectors, 1300hp rated FueLab Prodigy pump, 3 bar fuel pressure on E85. I even took it out on a rich tune. Getting closer.

    It's been a while. The car runs good finally. I upgraded to 17Z's because 18Z's won't clear my slicks and wheels. I also switched to aluminum uprights. Lastly, because I have an extremely high pain tolerance, I bought another Audi VR6 car. Believe it or not, my plan is to make it my daily driver. I'll post pics later.

    Yes! Lets see some pics of the new car. I dont see why you would have any problem daily driving a vr audi. I daily drive my 700whp vr swapped audi with no problems!

    UPDATE? UPDATE?? Man, hell no there aren't any updates. Well..... besides the new wheel and tire package; the original insane P&P head that was converted to a big valve head, even more polishing, I already mentioned the aluminum uprights, the 17Z set up, the slicks the wife still doesn't know about, the money is set aside for the Skyline rear diff conversion, the driveshaft and the front CV's, plus I already bought a stud conversion, VEMS set up, custom gauge cluster, a still uninstalled Alcantara covered dash board, a custom multi tooth chain tensioner, rear brake upgrade and just bought the SPTurbo VR6 billet oil housing....yeah, no updates here and really no pics to post either. Gotta trust me I guess.
