Exhaust system that is not as loud as a straight pipe.....

hey guys i have a 09 sline a3 auto. Im in the market for an upgraded exhaust. I want my car to be loud like my dads porsche. I was looking at straight pipes but realized that they are too loud. Is there a system thats legal that is close to a straight pipe? For example milltek is not what im looking for..

1 magnaflow resonator (for deepness) and one magnaflow race series muffler.... you will need a full 3" Turboback, just a catback will not give you the noise you want, you NEED a downpipe to bring out more noise

To make the car really sound loud you need to get a turbo back exhaust set up. There is allot of sound dampening in the OEM down-pipe. buy the way if you put a strait pipe on your car with out a proper ECU tune you might loose allot of back pressure, this can cause some power lose

check out APR turbo-back exhaust, it may not be really loud but it sounds really good.

what ever you get, just remember to make the exhaust really loud you have to pair it with a 3" down-pipe.

Ah thats right, I think GHL might have went out of business? If anyone has any insight on what the hell GHL has been up to feel free to share.

I have an AWE turbo back exhaust and it is pretty loud. I'll try and make a video tomorrow for ya.

GHL was owned by 2 brothers, they got into an arguement and both went there own ways...... they really need to bring their exhausts back because they are the best sounding exhaust for the 1.8t's and 2.0t EVER!!!

GHL is a client of mine. However, they stopped ordering from me so I guess they stopped they operation.

If you want an exhaust that's not too loud, go for ARQRAY japanese exhausts. I tried one on my MINI and I loved it :)

youre not going to get an a3 to sound like a porsche, doesnt matter what exhaust you put in.

Here is a vid of a track day lap with a full AWE catback. It ended up being too loud for my taste. I did love the sound when i was alone in the car.
