Updated Pics of S5 with new wheels and exhaust!

Not posted any updated pictures of my S5 recently - had a bunch of mods dones over the last few months including:

- Stasis ARB
- E-codes
- 20" BBS CK's in Anthracite
- Billy Boat Exhaust

Huge thanks to West Broad Audi in Richmond, VA for their great service installing wheels and exhaust. And to Modbargains.com for there super service on getting me the exhaust in super fast time for an awesome price.

Very nice, CH's are sweet. I think it'd look even better if you have the window trim painted a gunmetal/graphite colour to match the wheels.

Nice mods. How do you like the BB exhaust? I'm trying to decide which exhaust to get. Only a few youtube videos for BB.

Exhaust installed this morning - I went for the Billy Boat Stealth system.

Firstly, it looks outstanding - the tips are imense! I can't tell you how much it transforms the rear of the car. The Audi techs also commented on how good the build quality and fitment is - a very, very good piece of kit. Secondly, sound. It is perfect for me. An increase over stock, and has that little rumble. If you are looking for real loud, then this system isn't for you. If however, you are looking for that little bit more aggressive note that I think the S5 deserves, you should absolutely consider this system.

I have a very slight resonance in the cabin between 1400 and 1800 RPM (as I have a tip), but it is easily tolerable and I have no issues or concerns with it.

Wow, the car looks amazing! You commented on the tips being immense. They don't look too big compared to stock but they do appear to stick out a little further than the factory? Is this just an optical illusion from the picture or do they actually protrude further out?

Finally, I also have a tip and wanted to replace my exhaust with something a bit more aggresive. You mentioned the dreaded "drone" or resonance at 1400-1800 rpm's. Is this easily managed by driving in Sport mode or using the paddles in manual? Sorry for all of the questions. Of course, I just noticed that you might not be able to answer the resonance questions yet since you just got it installed....

This sounds like it is defintely an exhaust I can go with based on your feedback. I had a Borla exhaust on my Porsche (also tip) and finally ended up selling the car partly because of the drone. Don't want to make the same mistake with my S5.

No worries about the questions - its what these forums are for!

The tips are certainly larger - have another look at the shot directly from the back. They are large (3.5" tips) - and fill the holes perfectly. It's the size they should have been from factory as far as I'm concerned. In terms of sticking out - yes, they do stick out further than stock tips. Some like it, some don't. The tech was trying to get them further in, but by design, this is where they sat (to get both sides even). It doesn't look weird as such - it's just different to how we are used to the exhaust looking from stock.

Yes, the resonance is definately reduced if not eliminated by using the paddles or Sport mode. I tried all the combinations on my way to the office from Audi. I'll play some more this weekedn on the way to Raleigh (200 odd miles), so can provide some further comments. But I assure you, it's NOT that bad. I've had some pretty loud exhausts and "drone" in the cabin on my old Altezza, Lexus and Porsche from aftermarket exhausts, and this is no where near as bad.

If it's any help, I've speant the last 5 months reasearching options, waiting on Magnaflow, requesting feedback, considering just backboxes (Supersprint was going to be my choice), just downpipes and various other options before I landed on this. And I'm chuffed I selected this system... :)

Mo, did you hear my GMG exhaust? This exhaust it perfect, IMO. I would definitely check it out if you want a subtle but aggressive sound without any drone.

I just think that black CHs would've looked better on your car to match the grille and contrast with the Sprint Blue. Love the look nonetheless, CHs have always been my favorite.

Hey Todd,

I am sure I heard it the day that I met you but to be honest I don't really remember the sound or tone. When you get back in town maybe we can meet up for some lunch or something and I can hear it again. Heck, even better maybe even give me a short ride so that I can hear from inside the cabin? Would love to hear it.

Still haven't met Otto yet around Jax. Have watched for his car down in the area but no glimses yet.

LOVE the exhaust. The huge tips look awesome. The CKs are a great looking wheel BUT I think silver would've gone better with the rest of the car. The anthracite isn't flowing well since you have a black grill and silver trim. I had the same thing going on when I did gunmetal BBS REs on my car. Took them off after 3 days b/c it just didn't look right.

Well, this weekend was fun. A good friend of mine, Elizabeth (Elizabeth Miller Photgraphy), did a little photoshoot of my car. So, having spent Saturday detailing, and having had the rear valance sprayed black to match the front, here are some initial shots.

She will be coming to the Audi Open day in Richmond on Auguist 14th and taking pictures and will also be offering personal car shoots too...

I agree with Alkivar the reasoning being that there is a lot of different things going on on your car I think it will make it a lot simpler if everything matches a bit more it will help the car flow more nicely. Car looks good though I love blue!
