I got me S5 trims and grill painted there. I trust Diogo and he went out of his way to take care of my car. I am going back to get my coil-overs install as soon I get wheels in.

Mufflex in Trenton (I think) is pretty good, but I'm sure that's a bit of a hike for you. Or Kooks...they're somewhere in NY

I would stick with Redline Speed Worx in Washington, NJ for a custom exhaust (they actually use good material and not mild steel). They are right off of 78. JR & Pat know their stuff.

Check out their website, they have a few soundclips of exhausts they've made. I uploaded a video Romell and I made screwing around one day. Diogo made him a custom 3'' dp to a 2.5'' exhaust w/ magnaflow mufflers.

    how do u figure?
Not that I'm getting it, but straight pipes are much better performance wise than (I'll use awe as an example) an awe catback.
    Straight pipes - $400-600
    Awe - $950-1100

You do work for a performance and fabrication company. so please correct me if I'm wrong.

You will not always gain (Performance) with straight pipes. Most of the time you will actually lose HP/TQ.

Most places (not ALL) that you go to for Performance Exhaust are going to use Aluminized steel that will rust in less then 1 year

They will also Mig Weld all Exhaust which If we Owned Chevy's that would be ok. The quality would be equal to the vehicle. Then you Toss it when it rusts out. Stainless will never rust out and you will never have to replace it. Do it once and do it right

Do you know what Type of exhaust piping your going to be getting by the shop that is doing the work? for a Cat-back exhaust in Just materials for you vehicle costs anywhere from 500-600.

Well I just got a 3inch downpipe to 2.5 inch y pipe w/Magnaflow mufflers for a price way below the
cost of an aftermarket exhaust. Definitely feel an improvement in turbo spool and sounds great.

I've seen several exhausts come out of AMS that are over a year old with no rust. What makes you think that the cars coming out of AMS are poorly crafted?

I never said anything about AMS.. That's why i said most not all! I have never seen there Fabrication work. I have seen other Custom exhaust shops with some pretty poor materials used.

Just curious as to what kind of welder he used though for your exhaust... IIRC he made one for a Porsche with a Mig welder then posted it up on EuroAddiction not too long ago and got mad when everyone said it looked like shit because of the rough welds and transitions and then there was a customers A4 exhaust where the mufflers fell off ... kinda leaves you wondering back to what RSW said about materials/costs on top of the quality of work from the mechanic as well.

The owner of the yellow porsche in the video is Gavin. That exhaust was thrown together one afternoon out of boredom using whatever materials were available at the time. Diogo can and does build TIG welded exhausts if you want. In fact, he just built one for the Audi 90 thats on the website. There's actually pictures of him building it on the shops facebook fan page here:

    http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pi...d=432220317264

I've seen that car in person many times and the piece is beautiful. The story of the exhaust falling off is a mere rumor with no proof. It was probably started by the bandwagon of people who hate AMS for whatever reason. Diogo has kept the shop open well past midnight on multiple occasions to make sure that my car was back on the road when I needed it, and has done the same for friends of mine as well as other customers. AMS has never done me wrong, so I'm willing to go to bat for them since I know they take care of myself and their other customers. As far as Diogo's ability as a mechanic, I think his work can speak for itself. He's built multiple cars that have had full spreads in eurotuner and performance bmw mag, including his own widebody ti. After a quick google search I could only find the spreads of his ti, but there are other cars. If you're still doubting you can look in the shops show room; the spreads are framed and hanging on the wall

HAHAHA! Are you kidding me MCT? You asked how AMS was and I simply provided the facts that clearly AMS and the rest of the little AMS Fanboys wouldn't. And I am a hater AMS? Maybe because I like the work done on my correctly. You did a shit ass Timing belt on Charles' A4. The power steering pump broke THE DAY AFTER because of you shoddy work and then when it was brought back to you to get fixed it broke the day after again. Then 6 months later guess what, broke AGAIN! I guess tightening the bolts on the pulley is overrated anyway... Call me what you want but if you guys cant handle the truth then don't post on the internet asking how a certain shop is.

well, if you read, you would know I never asked how the shop was... i asked if anyone has video's of exhaust done by AMS.
I've had work done by AMS already, so I know that they do good work. Get your facts straight b4 u come after me dude.

By the way Justin, unless you've got YOUR car worked on there and it got fucked up who cares? Theres two sides to everyones story about everything. The guys at AMS work long ass hours and I give them credit for it. Diogo fixed my boost leak I had at like 11 at night. The only one complaint about AMS is how long I always have to wait to get my car looked at, but its whatever because they're always busy. If they do shotty ass work why wouldn't I go somewhere else and wait for hours to get my work done? Because they're reliable and get returning customers for knowing their shit.

Justin fronted on me about buying my valvecover. Some dude offered me way more money than Justin did and I did him a favor by holding it for him because he said he needed it. Ended up fronting on me and the other guy already had one by that time. Justin you suck bro. Justin's in the backround with N.E.R.D. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wIBTrN5Odbg hahah

I'll go ahead and chime in here. The day after the TB job the pump broke. Coincidence? I think not. I said whatever and paid for a new pump. You replaced a week or so later only for me to go home and have it be broken AGAIN, the day after. I decided I'd leave my car there for a week so we could be sure it was fixed.... finally you told me you'd been driving it for a week and it was OK. Everything was fun for 6 months until I heard the whining noise once again. Tired of having these pumps replaced because you were obviously doing something wrong, I decided to bring it to someone else. You did warrantee me a new pump (as you should have), although it did take two weeks and at least 30 calls for me trying to get it. I watched my Audi tech did it and as soon as he started it was obvious what was wrong. The bolts for the pulley on the PS pump weren't tight, and dug themselves into the actual pulley creating uneven crevices in the holes of the pulley. This eventually wore down the bearing in the pump. We went ahead and replaced the pulley, the pump, and a new serpentine belt (which was soaked in PS fluid from the failing bearing). I was out another $150 but at least I knew my car would be fixed.

And PS- a whining pump that sounds like a dying whale is broken to me. Yes I could turn, but it was loud as all hell! 4 pumps in one year, tell me how that could happen without you not installing it incorrectly. It can't.

Personal attacks aren't necessary. I'm the one that got MY CAR worked on there and I was NOT happy with the work. Justin's obviously heard about all this- as have most of NERD, and that's why most of us don't bring our cars to AMS anymore.

It's not about not likeing anyone personally. MCT asked how "Who has a custom exhaust from AMS particularly." All's I did was provided some input and you guys don't like it and now all your panties are in bunch.

Awesome man just awesome! Two sides to every story right? How about the part where I told you I was out of town tending to an ill family member. You seem to have forgotten that part and then when you told me you had a buyer from NY I responded to go ahead and sell it because I wasn't sure how long it would be until I came back into town.
Things I am selling just PM me
    - RS4 Pedals (Automatic)
    - USP Lower Valence

once again i have to reply and say i HIGHLY doubt the bolts were lose but its going to be one of those he said shes said story's now, Ive done dozens of TB's and pumps and never once had a issue besides your car, if you think it was something on my end then im sorry, but unfortunately in this line of business there are always going to be cases and story's like this. no one is perfect and mistakes do happen, once again if it was my fault im truly sorry
