A friend let me barrow his scales this weekend. Thought I would share. This is with 1/4 tank and my custom hitch that is not light. One of the switches is messed up but it really is all tires then fronts then rears.

You may think I'm not online. But I'm always here. Even if I'm not posting. I'm always here. Scrolling. Judging.

Matt, do you actually feel the loss of weight when driving?

Sunroof is absolutely the best place to shave sprung weight. I've thought about doing that to mine too - I never use them, they leak, they weigh a lot, and they fail. Just out of curiosity, did you add sheet metal, and what did you do with the headliner and all the electronics? How much weight would you say you saved?

Dry weight is irrelevant; Subtract 30 lbs of transmission fluid, 180 lbs of gasoline, 25 lbs of coolant, 20 lbs of motor oil, 20 lbs from the rear diff, front diff, and t-case, you get the idea.
Curb weight, on the other hand, considers the car's weight with a full tank of fuel and a driver. If your numbers are substantially less than listed curb weight, that's why.
