Is the murdered out look overdone/outplayed?

I have a black b6 sedan and i've been wanting to black the whole thing out for some time and was wondering what you guys think of the whole blacked out look on our cars?

I plan on blacking out the grills, I'd like to get 19" rs6 reps (black) w/spacers and either an eibach setup or 02 b6 usp suspension but it might not be low enough, picking up the led tails and tinting them but only slightly, rear badge removal minus the rings with the addition of my Bavaria state badge, I'd like to get either black Porsche or b7 s4 calipers, USP front bumper and s4 rear bumper, I already have 15% tint all around and plan on getting the Lumar air blue film for the front windshield. I'd like to put some 3m carbon fiber vinyl on the unpainted section of the rear s4 bumper but can't decide if it would look good or ricey, S4 blades and thinking about the vinyl there also, either black or silver rotors from our in house guy. I think it would look good with the silver mirror covers to finish it off. this is all on paper until I get all the details down but it should look pretty good

Also I need a new hood due to my brothers subframe falling from the garage roof onto it :( so anyone have suggestions of what to get?

Your plans sounds tasteful so I'm sure it wouldn't look bad. However, I would get silver RS6 reps for some contrast. Too much black is played out.

My car is silver, and i guess my idea of "murdering" it out is basically just removing all the chrome on the car and making it flat black. I'm not a fan of the tinted or smoked taillights, or tinted/smoked side markers(turn signals). But i am for blacking out the grilles, tinting the windows, blacking out the rear audi rings and removing the rest of the badges (i left the front rings chrome).

I've only heard it referred to as murdered out, slang im sure but "blacked out" might have been better. I came from the honda scene years ago when kids would primer their car flat black and I couldn't stand it so that's out of the question. The reason I want to slightly tint the rears is the aftermarket led tails seem a little too bright (not the bulbs but the housing) to look stock.

First of all do what you think will look best and go through with it, you must live with the way your car looks every day.
Second, "Murdered" and "blacked" out will never be played. There arent as many blacked out cars as you think, its all internet phenomenon. Also saying that stuff is played is what is really played. You only have so many options to style your car and it will always look likes someone elses car in some ways or even all the way. So just cause there are a bunch of silver s-line cars on here doesnt mean owning a silver s-line is played. Same with having a shiny car, good god that is played if you ask me, literally 99.99999% of people have shiny cars, now THATS played (Sarcasm).

    ^ Agreed.

I think every last member on here could have identical cars and out in the real world we'd still look rare compared to how many of these cars are actually on the road. Make it what you love and to hell with the rest of us.

Do what you feel for and not what the internet tells you is/is not played out.

One more thing to consider, there maybe a lot of blacked out black b6:ers on the internet, but how many are there where you live?
I tweak my car to look good in real world, not to look good in pictures on the internet.

And do the blackout right, imo it looks best with rings/wheels silver, mirror caps in brushed and dont joey the "rings" in yor headlight.
As going with 19" rs6s, do them silver, they would looks insane big with the black contrast.. Damn i wish my car was black

The only concern I have with the rs6 wheels is that the spokes are a little bit thicker than i'd like. I want to show off the brake upgrades while keeping a semi stock look rim if anyone has suggestions on that.

I was never, and never will be a fan of the ALL murdered out look. But as long as you leave some aluminum trim on the car to give the black some contrast, it should look fine. Chrome/Aluminum mirror covers will be a nice touch. Just think contrast...everything needs contrast. Just my .02
