Sylvania Silverstar H11 Fog Light Review

Note: The following review is rather breif as I did not actually install both bulbs, and I did not use them on the road, or for more then 10 mins

    Sylvania Silverstar H11 Fog Lights

The reason I chose to purchase these fog light's, was to get the fogs to match the stock xenon color.

Cost: Bulbs were $42.13 with tax (RI 7%)

After replacing the passenger side fog light I turned the fog lights on to see how much of a difference there was between the OEM product, and these. I was surprised to see that there is very little difference between OEM and the slyvania fog lights.

Consensus: From what I have read, this a good product. If you are looking to stick with the OEM look, and just want to, or need to replace your fog lights, these would be a good choice. They are a tad bit brighter and whiter than stock, however do not match the xenon's.

Hoen makes a good "Xenon-Match" H11 product, I will be ordering a set of those next. I had luck with them on my b7 A4.

    Pretty red color,

As for the lights, you should have went with a 35W cool white between 6k and 7k. Thats what I plan on doing in the near future.

I would suggest modding H9 bulbs to fit in the housing. It really does make a big diff. I have 2500K retrofitted H9's in my fogs and it looks fantastic

What did you have to do to get the H9's to fit?

There's 2 minor details that you have to cut off basically on the H9 bulb. There was a thread on here about a week ago about how to do it but it disappeared.... But anyway, if you take an H11 and H9 and look at them together, you will notice immediately. You need to cut off about 3mm of metal off of the biggest metal tab that holds the bulb in the housing (cause it's bigger than the H11) and also you need to cut out the top plastic "blocker" thing on the connector portion. Like I said, you'll see exactly what I'm talking about when you compare the bulbs. Just need a file, a knife, and some metal clippers.

I now have the Hoen H11 Endurance model. I LOVE them, they are very yellow and very bright, I actually have practical foglight now.

I will write up a review soon.
