    Hey,

Could anyone confirm if a set of 255/35/19 tires on 19x8.5 A5 wheels fit on a 2006 A6 Avant?

    Thanks

I think you'll rub with that setup unless you do some work in the fenders. Depends on ride height and tire choice to some degree though.

Because wider is better. That is an optional tire on the 2008 A5.

    A6 Avant has stock suspension.

definitely fit. I'm running with the set up for my A6 C6. Of course, it depends on how lower you want to go with. But with stock, no rub issue at all.

I am sorry guys. I think I might be wrong with above info. I got Et38 rims with 19x8.5 and 255/35/19 tires all around. The OEM offset of S5 rims are et 32.

You can fit stock S6 wheels and tires which I believe are 19x10 with 275's on there with an ET of 52.

My stock A6 wheels are 18x8 ET48. There is around 1/2" clearance all around the back side of the tire....but to be safe I think the offset should be reduced a bit and push the wheel tire out towards the fender lip.

Can anyone confirm if the center bore for A6 is the same as found on A5 or A4 wheels?

Have you seen this done? I've been wondering myself if I can fit 10" wheels on the wifey's A6. Seems like a no go from my calculation because while 19x10 won't hit on the inside, it is over 1/2" outside the fender.

Yes this will work. You have plenty of room for a 255/35 but it's a bit on the tall side. 265/30 matches stock better and still fits, but needs a 9inch wheel. Or stick with 245's.

I guess I should have said that I've heard that they do. I'm pretty sure I heard someone on Audiworld talking about it.

A5 bore is 66.6mm, every other Audi is 57.10mm. You'll need a hub-centric spacer to run those wheels.

I have those on my Allroad and yes I use Hub rings adapter 66.6 to 57.1mm, also I use spacers 12mm front and 15mm on the back.

Hold on, your missing something really important out here.

Most A6 rims have an offset of 45 or 48mm, the A5 rims tend to be 29 or 32mm, so you are pushing the wheel out an extra 2cm, you are then adding another 2cm nearly with the 8.5" rim over the standard 8" rim, and then you are increasing the tyre size by 1cm well half a cm as it is only one side.

But overall you are pushing that rim out by just over an inch, and I don't think the C6 will take it. I have seen pics of people with aftermarket rims that are 8.5" wide with 245 tyres and using only a 35mm offset and they look a bit silly and they have said it 'sometimes' rubs, well to me that means it rubs and is no good, and you are going more extreme than that with the A5 wheel.

Kemer had, if I remember correctly, 245/35/19 on 19's with an ET of 35. The only thing I'm not sure of is the tire width. I believe his wheels were 8.5's too

I Just put Audi A5 19"255/35 wheels on my 2006 A6 & i put center rings on it to stop any vibration but i still get vibration at high speeds and i got all tires high speed balanced twice and the rims have no bends. I know they both have the same P.C.D however the off set differs between the 2 models and I don't know if that will matter. (20-35 A5, 35-45 A6)
The A5 has a center bore of 66.56 as opposed to the A6's 57.1 ..I ask them to put center rings because that what i was told it needed. i did not physically check them myself...i figured they knew what i needed. The center rings helped the vibration under 65mph but i still get vibration at Higher speeds.

    TPMS:

After putting on the new wheels, i started to also get the TPMS warning. In the car setup i can reset the Tire pressure so the computer knows what the pressure should be but that doesn't seem to work. The TPMS comes on after driving for a little while, after i reset it. Any info would help...Thanks
