Anyone using the Ross Tech (vag com) software VCDS-Lite?

I can't get it to install and their support sucks so far. I bought a $300 netbook just for this use, and made sure it didn't have Vista, thus it's OS is NT. My long term plan was taking it apart and using it as a carputer...

Anyway, does anyone run this version of the VagCom software? I guess it's their newest/best version for using a 3rd party cable, sorry I will not spend $200 on a friggin' cable from them. Was hoping someone could walk me through the install...

For genuine cable the support is awesome. Download old 409.1 version from torrents or somewhere else, it works good with an Ebay $20 cable

VCDS-Lite will work with any interface that works with the old VAG-COM 311 or 409. It should also work on any version of Windows from 95 though 7, including NT4. XP is a total no-brainer.

However, it's up to your hardware vendor to provide you with whatever drivers and instructions are needed to get their hardware working.

VAG-COM will work under Vista and 7, but it's rather fidgety to make it work correctly and reliably on those versions of Windows.

However, VCDS-Lite does absolutely everything which the old VAG-COM versions 311 and 409 did, and number of things better/faster.

Ok, I have the driver working with VCCS Lite (newest software) and it recognized my car. Now it won't scan it...wtf? Also, do we search under A4B5 or A6C5 because B5S4 isn't there?
