Updated Pics of my Brilliant Red S4 DTM

Hey guys,

Here are some updated pics of my Brilliant Red S4 DTM. I have pretty much done a bunch of exterior mods, as I wanted to get some more carbon fiber on the car to match the DTM kit.
On the recent mod list: 1) gloss black Oettinger grille with gloss black Audi rings; 2) Eurogear carbon fiber S4 door blades; 3) Osir carbon fiber mirrors; 4) DTM valance painted gloss black; 5) trunk strip painted gloss black; 6) flat black PAINTED window trim.

Next on the list are suspension and darker wheels (trying to find a "NYC-friendly" coilover kit - not easy), then exhaust and painting my headlights gloss black.

great job with the car (and choice of soundtrack in the driver door)! Which aftermarket trunk lip most closely resembles that stock DTM's? I've seen some that don't contour and curve quite as nicely on the edge of the trunk.

The mirrors are the OSIR replacement CF mirror caps. I already have the S4 mirrors, so it would kind of defeat the purpose of having an S4 by putting mirror covers on it, you know?

And I have a Tip because I spend most of my commute in NYC traffic or playing "Crazy Taxi" with cabs and dollar vans (yes, "dollar vans"). One of my friends has a 6-speed TSX and he tells me his left leg is numb everytime he gets out of his car to go to work in the morning, lol. I personally feel like I have more than enough time to drive a stick for a weekend car in the future, which I certainly will do.

As for the lip, I'm pretty sure the Rieger lip is a replica version of the DTM lip, but I'm not 100% sure. Someone can feel free to correct me on that.

not feeling it at all.. no offense but you made a dtm s4 look bad. sorry if i am being mean. its just to much carbon fiber.. at least paint it or something it looks horrible and not one thing flows.. the grill is outta place especially with all the other carbon.. i do like the seats however, with the black suede.. thats one plus.. sorry good luck with the rest

I made the car look bad? I didn't know I put 22'' Lexanis and chrome pillars on the car.

Anyway, I'm going to respectfully disagree with you. The DTM S4, while the bumpers and CF spoilers are very nice, is a rather plain car. It has a stock A4 grill and no fogs, it is missing the stock S4 door blades, and it has chrome accents where it doesn't belong (like on the trunk). Audi made some nice parts for the car but they stuck too much emphasis on heritage with the A4 DTM being based in Europe and they were too cost-efficient in some places. More or less, one could argue that the car has too much of an "A4-ish" look to it.

I think the only mod that is questionable is the door blades because they are bold but it's a different look. It's a definite love/hate - in fact, I wasn't too sure on them until I blacked everything else out. But I don't know how you can say it doesn't flow if everything is black, brilliant red or carbon fiber on the car except for a few stupid emblems. I could've left the everything else stock and it would look retarded. I'm just going with that "red with dark accents" look and I'm going to continue to run with it.

Not a fan of the Door blades. I might also try a glaze between the Polish and the Wax.

Oh, and at this point, you need black rims.

Sucks that you have a red/black theme going and you have to break that up with the blue and white NY plate on the front. Front plates can ruin the whole look if they're ugly like that.

this right here and it will fit the S trunk perfect...if its a non s trunk then it wont fit right

Personally, I really like it. The door blades remind me of the euro b6 s4's. Like some others have said, I would get silver rings for a little contrast up front but otherwise it looks great.

doesnt seem to be worth the money added to the car to me...grille looks clean though, thats about it.

You know, we tried to leave the rings the normal silver, but it didn't look right even before the other mods. In fact, it looked kind of cheesy. The problem with the Oettinger grille is that the rings are much smaller than OEM and I sold off the stock grille as-is so I could not retrofit the stock rings. The rings don't look as transparent in person as in the photos - you could barely see them in the photos I gave. They're more visible otherwise.

A couple of answers to questions:
-The pictures were actually taken in Brooklyn.
- I just washed the car on a cloudy day because it was in the shop for about five days. My detailer actually uses a glaze at times.
- Agreed on Diogo - excellent work, totally reasonable, highly recommended as others have said on here. He'll only touch my car from here on in.

Yup, I painted the trunk strip and the valence gloss black. I especially hated the chrome strip on the trunk.

I actually originally bought the Osir DTM CF valence, but there was a delay on shipping. I bought the mirrors instead and I'm very happy with them. They actually get a lot of compliments.

The Osir CF mirrors are very close to the two OEM CF spoilers.

The door blades are fairly off - they have more of a "pleaded carbon fiber weave," for lack of a better term. The thing with the blades is, you can't really tell that they're carbon fiber until you come closer. In pictures they almost look black.

That's my next mod. I'm going to get them painted gloss black to match everything else. I just didn't want to do too much by putting performance mods, wheels, suspension, and everything else in one shot, lol.
