K04 - WHat Gap for Spark Plugs? + Best method to gap them

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
So been trying to find this for a while now. Searching does me no good.

GIAC Hammer + K04 and all the goods

What spark plug gap do people run in their k04ed cars? I have heard anything from .25-.28 but i cant find any concrete numbers.

I know people say run the bkr7e's but beucase i ran out im running the bkr6es on stock setting. When in pump mode what diffrence is made between the 6 and 7e's?

Last question, after 4 years of owning this car I still dont have a good methiod to gap my spark plug. I use this shitty little round gapper thing but its so inaccurate its insane. ANyone got some easy tools or methods they use to gap their spark plugs?

    Thanks

WIcked thanks guys. THat feeler gauge is what I have been looking for! man the little wheel I have is garbage.

Will running my gap at .30 cause the car to misfire on the pump file ? Also i have Bkr6e's installed, should i take them out right away or should I just wait until they need to be replaced. Any major diffrence preformance wise between the 6e and 7es

i would stick to .28 if i was you (coming from someone with experience...)

I had mine too high and i was getting a flashing CEL upon WOT, and at first thought it was the icm, so traded that out... didnt help (put mine back in then) then i put in all new coil packs, didnt help (put mine back in after) then thought it could be the maf sending faulty readings, or the spark plugs needed to be re gapped

it was the spark plugs that were off. put them all at .28 and am enjoying no trouble...

I remember the discussions with using 7e vs 6e on K03 and K04s.
I dunno, unless you live in a really hot climate and running your K04 hard, I don't think 7e is going to be better than 6e.
I tried 7e once on my J31 and I honestly didn't feel any more power. In fact, when I took them out they were built up with more carbon than 6e.
