    Injectors won't seat properly! FIXED!

Hey guys, I just installed genesis 415cc injectors to go with my uni 415cc BT file. For some reason I can't get them to seat correctly! Especially the first injectors seat. Injector seats are brand new. These injectors are for my 1998 AEB 1.8t. I am not using any spacers or anything since usrallyteam told me not to. Just had them flow matched too so orings are brand new. I am not using the clips that hold them to the fuel rail though since the cut is at a different place than the stock injectors. The car sounds like a boost leak and I can hear the leak from the injectors. Any thoughts?

got pictures? sounds like they are not being pushed down far enough, is the fuel rail bolted down all the way?

Fuel rail is bolted down all the way. I first put the injectors in the seats to push them down as far as I could, then put the fuel rail over them and bolted them down. I believe you are right though, the first injectors doesn't seem to push in as far as the rest. What would cause this? Just a faulty injector?

Yes, they are the genesis 415cc aeb injectors. Kind of wierd that they dont work snce i've only heard good things about them. Anyone else had an issue with them? When i swap my bosch redtops back in for my pc16 setup, there are no leaks or anything. They fit perfectly, but these dont.

Looks like they're sitting too low. This is without using the clips in the fuel rail since the cut for the clip is not in the right spot. The pics are comparing the genesis 415cc injectors to the bosch red tops that I've used for a long time with no issues.

What do you guys think? How can I make them fit? Or should I just buy some delphi 440cc injectors and adjust my fpr to flow the same as these 415cc at 4bar?

Figured it out! Had to use the clips, and use some washers after the fuel rail to pull the injectors out slightly so that they sit like stock. Works fine now. : )

So what was your car acting like? and did you get the first injector to seal when it was sitting too far in? I'm having a similar issue after swapping over to an AEB head, My car doesn't want to idle.

Well i could hear air getting sucked into the intake mani at he injector seats with the car idleing. Also, i took some carb cleaner and sprayed it at the base of the injectors and the car would bog down. The car just sounded like a major boost leak. Vacuum on the boost gauge wasnt where it needed to be. Exhaust had a chugging sound. The orings on the bosch ad the genesis are in the same place. I figured if i used the clips and get the injectors to sit at the same depth as the bosch, all would be well. The cut for the clips was different on the genesis though, so i measured the difference, got washers that were the thickness of the difference in cuts and put them under the fuel rail on the screws that bolt it down. That way the genesis sit like stock and not too far down.

UPDATE! Got alot of help from Scott at USRT about my fitment issues. He told me that since my injectors sat too low, I should try to move the oring from the tip of the injector to a bit higher shown in black in this pic:
    http://s22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...ectors-129.jpg
I'm going to try this and let you guys know how it goes! Cause the injectors themselves flow much better than any others but I just had fitment issues on the AEB engine.

Update! After talking with Scott, he shipped me out a new set of orings that have a slightly larger inner diameter yet the same outer diameter as stock. I put these on in the new location as shown in the link to the pic above, removed the old orings completely so that the larger oring was the only oring that was in place, and using the stock fuel rail clips, installed the injectors in the fuel rail. They seal perfect and no leaks! Fuel rail bolts down perfect as well. Scott said that he will start selling the AEB injectors with the larger oring in the new spot since it worked for me. So if anyone else has a problem with the genesis injectors sealing in the AEB large port intake mani, contact Scott at USRT and he will hook you up with the new orings to fix your problem. The injectors are truly superb and the spray pattern is just like stock. Thanks Scott at USRallyTeam.com for your help!
