    Audi A2DP Bluetooth Adapter

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Just received the Audi Bluetooth Streaming Music adapter for my 2010 A3. I plugged in the USB cable into the AMI and the Bluetooth adapter into that cable. No software update was necessary. I use it with an iPhone 3G and it seems to work, but I get regular, brief audio drop outs. Its not terrible, but it could get old. I have a pair of stereo bluetooth headphones that I also use with the iPhone 3G that do not experience this drop out issue.

Anyone else have the adapter and noticed anything like this?

I don't have the adapter yet.

Do you disconnect the AMI from the CD changer and into the adapter?
Cool stuff with a little growl!

Well, I guess it depends on your setup. I don't have a CD changer, so I just have the AMI. I disconnect the AMI-iPod cable and swap in the AMI-USB cable with Bluetooth dongle attached. I guess if your setup has a changer that runs through the AMI, then yes.

    Hello divxz:

I just got an A3 and was disappointed that I couldn't get my phone music to come over the car speakers. Sounds like this adapter is the answer.
Do Audi dealers sell it? Is it difficult to install? Can I do it myself? I'm a tech clutz. Does it also allow the Pandora on my phone to come through
the car speakers? Thanks in advance for your help.

You need Audi's A2DP adapter for audio/music streaming. It can be purchased from the dealer. It uses the MMI, where the iPod would plug in. I believe this is 2010 and beyond A3s.

You pair the A2DP and the phone interface separately. On my iPhone, I can pair to both devices at the same time with no problems. It defaults to iPod control, but if you have another audio app, it works. I've streamed Internet radio.

Installation is easy. Just plug it in.

    Alternative adaptor

Hi guys, I've got an alternative adaptor from ViseeO called Tune2Air WMA1000 which works with my A4 AMI. It will supports wirelessly stream music and also allow you to wireless browse music list, see the song title on the original in-car display. It also allows me controlling the music directly from the head unit control. This music list function only works with my iPhone. I have tested this tiny device with my friend's android phone (galaxy 3) which also works well however, with android it does not support the music library browsing though. Sportify online music service is also supported. You can stream music from Sportify app to the head unit via WMA1000. Again like the android phone it does not support music list though. Only Apple's device is supported for the music library I guess.

It should. Which non-oem system? Does it emulate a cd changer?
