tire question, 245 40 19 too big?

Like the title says, are 245 40 19's too big for 19x8.5 (et35) rims? I know it will be a bit beefier then typically run. and if it matters, these will end up on an avant. thanks guys

Please dont do anything more then a 35 sidewall on 19in wheels.

245 will rub if your lowered on some wheels.

stock was 235/45-17. I've also got 5mm spacers if that will help... I live down a pretty crappy road, so i wouldnt mind the extra cushion... but not at the risk of rubbing. right now the cars on stock non sline suspension, but i have coils going on in a few weeks.

i wouldnt run that setup, stick with 35.

FWIW, I rub very occasionally in the rear with 235/35-19 running 19x8.5 et35 on my Avant, so I don't see how you wouldn't rub all day long with 245/40-19s on the same spec wheels. Spacers would just make it worse. The rubbing is on the rear fender liner.
