Hello all, question in relation to my VIN - an Audi A4 2.0 tdi.
My vehicle VIN# is : WAUZZZ 8E 7 6A059502 It is Audi A4. Can you translate this... I understand "wauzzz" from previous posts , 8E (=A4).
The "7" is very faint and in a different script..I understand this to be a "check digit" . Am I right? Now, what about the remaining part of the code? I.E. "6A059502" ? , particularly what the letter "A" means? Also I believe the "6" refers to it being a 2006 model ..but I find this confusing in that my car was first registered in 2005! Weird!!
The reason I need to know is that I need a replacement engine ( oil pump issue - chain drive). Have picked up that I need an engine with code:
8E*6*080172 upwards ~( i.e. gear drive for oil pump ) rather than an engine with a VIN up to - 8E*6*080171 ( chain drive system, like my own which is the cause of my problem). Hence appreciate explanation of VIN so I know exactly what I am talking about when contacting engine dealers!
Thank You , V.
