Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
the hidden menu in MMI 2G can be enabled with:
    [07 - Control Head]
    [Adaptation - 10] -> Channel 8
    change 0 to 1
when pressing CAR and SETUP you get in the hidden menu
unlike the hidden menu of MMI 3G, where you can choose "car", you can choose VEHICLE.
but how does one get inot this sub-menu ??

Just to be clear on nomenclature, you are referring to the Nav-equipped system, correct? Has anyone figured out or confirmed the existence of the hidden menu in non-Nav '09s?

yes, this MMI 2G does have Nav.
I followed the instructions from the wiki, as given here.
so, I don't know any better, as there is a hidden menu.
it looks quite different from the 3G-hidden menu.

I'm with Dub - Anyone know how to activate the hidden menu in a NON-Nav system? Have tried it on my VAG, but not found it yet.

I have non-Nav and was able to get the battery meter working thanks to B8_Jim's findings here. It shows up as another option in the CAR menu but I've never actually seen it display anything other than 100%, so I don't quite know if it works.

I'd still like to know how to enable the hidden menu tho on non-Nav (MMI-low) systems, if at all possible. So far it looks like some of the mods done via the hidden menu in MMI-high are just done through the VCDS interface instead on MMI-low.

I've had it show less and watched it go back up as I drove the car and charged it back up. It was a while before I seen it show below 100% but it does work.

^Good to know, David. I figured I'd see the meter go down if I sat in my car w/ the radio on but I haven't done it yet.

Just to try answer your question...

What do you want to do in the hidden menu??

The 2G and 3G can't be compared with each other.

But again, if you could tell us what it is you want to set up - then maybe we can help you (there are no manual for the hidden menu, so the help we can give you, will only be on what have been found)

    Always causing trouble.

If I'm not mistaken (which does happen), you don't have to have access to the hidden menu on the 2G and non NAV units. I think it's only the 3G you have to have access. I believe Rene showed that when he provided the coding to activate the ambiance lighting in the menu's without going through the hidden menu.

If anyone is every really bored and wants to map out the 2G and send me pictures I'd be more than happy to give them a home online.

I have seen this one on the 3G:
    Code:
    - "Audi RS6" MMI splashscreen
       MMI (SETUP+CAR)
          car > carcodingvehicule
             configuration line
Set to "[RS model] 5/5” (default setting = [standard] 2/5)
                NB : Corresponds to module #5F byte 4 bit 0 + bit 1
             Update Splashscreen (according car line)

Most of the value (if not all) in MMI 2G "hidden menu" can be coded direct with VCDS - but sometimes it is easier to just do it in the hidden menu - while driving.

Ya the ambiance lighting mod I did on my non-Nav '09 was done purely through VCDS but as Rene said, it'd be nice to be able to do things "in real-time" w/out a laptop, especially since my laptop doesn't hold a charge anymore

Neither does my laptop. Imagine what it's like for me trying to find coding using a stupid extension cord or power inverter.. I need one of those mini laptops I think.

Has anyone seen a comprehensive guide of what the different option in the hidden menu do? Some are in German and thus it's hard to decipher.

I have a 2012 premium A4 with convenience and lights package no nav. So does that mean I have the 2g MMI with non nav basic? Anyone live in MA or near Boston that I can come to for help that has the VCDS cord because the thing costs $350 on rosstech. Ill even pay to use your cord as long as I can get the mods done.

if you plan on keeping the A4 then buy the cable. its a sound investment, most likely will pay for it self, and you can sell it 3 years later for 300 bucks
