    Run-Rite Fuel Cleaner?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
My dealer has a two-step fuel cleaner kit and I figured I should give it a shot. I'm skeptic that it will do not anything for the FSI but it was a good price.

My question is that, how is it used. It comes with the fuel cleaner and fuel shot. The rep told me to use the fuel shot a tank and 1/2 after the fuel cleaner is used.

Any one have any experience with this kit?

I'm not sure about the two step, but with the Lubro Moly fuel injector cleaner we have (http://www.europaparts.com/lubro-mol...ve-300-ml.html), you're supposed to dump the can in right when you fill up.

Thanks Matt, I love your support throughout the forum. That is why I am saving up to buy this from you: http://www.europaparts.com/koni-fsd-kit-2100-4002.html.

I'm just curious about what to do with the Fuel Shot (2nd step). The rep kept repeating that I must use it after 1 and a half tank. I was to busy taking worry about my car. (Failed low pressure sensor, no pressure is cylinder 4!!!...)

I'm also interested. I didn't know that there was OEM injector cleaner.

My dealership also acknowledge that was carbon build-up issue. I brought my car in for something unrelated and at the end the tech drove the car to "try" to remove carbon buildup. I'm starting to really notice that the dealerships are realising the problem or they could just use this opportunity to cash in by selling use cleaners that does not work.

Sorry, I know the bottle is SOMEWHERE in my house. FYI it will do nothing for carbon build up (if that is what you are looking for).

I've came to accept the fact there is nothing out there to clean carbon buildup in our FSI's.
My MPG was considerably lower than usual so I figured I give a shot at cleaning the fuel injectors.

I had the dealer do something (need to look at receipt) about 6 months ago. Tons of black smoke for a few minutes then the car ran much better. I have an 05.5 so it must of had some serious build up.

I think it was around $50.00.

Was it sea-foam or BG44K? Also, why are Atlanta dealers so conservative. The service rep at Rick Case Audi does not recommend anything such as seafoam.

I wonder if regular sea-foam treatments would do anything for the carbon buildup issues.

So barrier Audi in Bellevue has a fuel injector cleaner, it's 11 bucks and you put it in with a full tank, and then again in 2000 miles. PN G 001 700 03.

    Hope this helps
