Removing the avant cargo cover - won't come out

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I'm following the instructions in the manual on how to remove the avant cargo cover, but I can't get it out. It says to fold the seats down and slide the cargo cover towards the passenger side of the car, which I do. However, it seems to hit a hard stop when sliding it to the right, like it's not meant to slide anymore, but the cover won't lift out. Any suggestions?

I've not tried this myself so can't really help, but you might also try the Avant forum.

That cover is a little heavy, so it may require a bit more muscle to lift up after it slides.

Mine just lifts right out, not even sure I needed to put the seats down. If I remember rightly it just twists forward a little and lifts out.

Push hard to the passenger side (right) and lift up. If it doesn't lift out then it isn't fully disengaged.

Something is wrong with mine then, because it hits something hard when sliding right, but definitely isn't disengaged. I've yanking it up and over, etc. I'll have the dealer take a look.

It's supposed to stop. It doesnt slide right out. Slide it until it stops then lift it out.

Oh I get that, but mine doesn't lift out once it's stopped. If I look closely at the channel in which it lies, it looks like it still has another inch to go before it would be all the way to the right. It's definitely still engaged to the seat when it stops.

There are 2 attachment points.. one on each of the back seats.

Take a look to see if anything might have fallen into the left hand side channel and might be preventing the cover to slide.

sorry, wrong. the cargo cover only attaches to the passenger-side portion of the seat backs. i usually just pull the cover from the passenger side until it stops, then roll it towards the back of the car down the seat backs just enough to disengage the teeth, then slide it out. if it's not coming out, take it to a stealership.

    You are right.

It's been a while since I took mine off.
