I have a brilliant black... but it's hard to keep it clean. Plus the contrast of white with tinted windows... i could imagine that looks great.

it would be awesome if it worked like that though...i have a gray car and sometimes i wish it was black and sometimes i wish it was white.

Black is the classic and always will be the best color. However recent statistics shows that white is the most popular color now, kinda like silver was few years ago. Go figure... But my personal opinion is that in white metallic A5 just looks awesome

So white did take over the top spot in '08, but lost it in '09. I'd say that you're both probably right since they are both typically ranked top 3 and it varies greatly based on make/model...

There is no one who will object that a black car looks best when it is clean. Go for Phantom or Brilliant but only if you have the time and dedication for it. Otherwise go for a lower maintenance color.

If you live in the northeast where they spray dirt/salt all over the freakin road in the winters, you do not want to pick white. Because it will quickly become a gross yellow/beige along the lower panels. Likewise, you should also avoid black because it rains at least once a week but at least the spots are merely annoying, not ugly. Metallic silver (not gray) is the best color in terms of minimal maintenance while looking good. If silver is too plain for you then go with any of the usual colors (red/blue/green).

I have a Phantom Black (A4 S-Line) and like the rest on here stated, when clean it does look amazing. I prefer Phantom to Brilliant, but both are nice. As for going with either black or white, it all depends on what you won't mind driving and looking at on a daily basis. I always liked darker colours and most of my vehicles have been black. If you are open to other colours too, I think Metallic Silver is a nice colour, looks good when clean and decent when a bit dirty too, and still has a sleek look to it.

But if it's only between the black or white, then I would say black (your choice on Phantom or Brilliant).
