Honestly I love the look of glanz but I dont know why it doesnt seem to last very long. I did a full 2 step using Einszett Polish Wax followed by Glans about a month ago. Washed my car today and got absolutely nooo beading at all. Did it again today since there was no beading and I will see how long it lasts this time around. I will say though Einszett makes metallic paint POP!

Heres a couple Pics from today after the wash and wax:

Next combo I am going to try is Chemical Guys Jet Seal 109 and Pete's 53' wax I have heard amazing things about this combo. Ive been testing quite a bit because I am trying to decide on which brand I will add to my retail assortment at my family's ACE Hardware.

well, you asked for the best: There is a product called Toughguard that is the strongest paint protectant i have ever used. last way longer than anything else on the market--even after two years of full exposure outside, water still beads up on the Wife's TT. also, you don't get those annoying water spots with this treatment on the car.

Problem is, the stuff is stupid expensive, especially retail. I bought a case (and got a better price) and was offering it as a service to clients whose cars i painted a while back. It actually has a cure time, and the cars get noticeably shinier as the stuff hardens over night.

    https://www.toughguard.com/order-s.html

Its a two part process, with a wash prep solution that prepares the paint for the coating and helps create the bond with the paint. Stuff interlocks as it cures, and is waterproof. the US Navy uses it to coat their multi million dollar radar dishes.

Such a broad question. there is no "best" wax. You can have an expansive was such as Swissvax Divine that looks great on whites but it might look like complete ass on black.

Keep trying different stuff until you find the one you like. Don't let yourself think that high price=better wax.

you also have to think of what you want in a wax. do you want it to last long and protect the paint or do you want the smoothest and deepest shine possible? most people will not use a wax anymore unless you re-wax thee car every 2 months or so. a wax will generally have more of a natural glow to it whereas a sealant will have more of a plastic-like gloss to it. sealants tend to make silvers and blacks pop a lot more.

I would recommend this sealant. its very well know in the detailing world. regardless of its low price tags, detailers use this stuff on $700+ details. I have been using it for about a year on my silver a4. it really makes the metallic pop and gives it excellent protection that lasts about 3-7 months depending on how much you wash the car:

other ones that i have tried that i like a lot are Chemical Guys Jetseal 109, Collinite 845, MEguiars NXT 2.0, Optimum Opti-Seal. <**-these are all sealants and not waxes

What's the difference exactly between a sealant and a wax? I've heard people swear by Menzerna Full Metal Jacket.

Autopia.org is a very knowledgeable website/forum for such discussions. TONS of threads on peoples opinions from durability, to gloss, to wet, to metallic pop, to color, etc...

I like Meguiar's products personally. Cheaper, available, and do a fantastic job...

there are tons of great car care products out there. read some of the tips on Phils website and determine from there what you need. My cabinet has the full 1Z Einzett Lineup and the Menzerna Lineup. 1Z on my car, Menzerna on hers.

    Here are a couple links:

even though the Toughguard stuff I linked above probably last the longest and gives the most protection by far of anything i have tried, I use the Menzerna FMJ on my A4. reason? inexpensive, great gloss, ease of application, and i actually like waxing my cars more often than every few years!

I like Menzerna FMJ but I also love Werkstat Acrylic Jett. www.werkstat.com. It is also a sealant rather than a wax. After a full swirl removal and Klasse AIO treatment, this makes lighter colors like my silver actually have depth. And it lasts at least a month or 2. The AJ:Trigger is as easy as quick detailing too.

Glanz wax ftw!.. Used it on both my friend's M3 and neighbor's silver A6 and both were amazed with the amount of shine/smoothness.
