    Here is a quote from Car and Driver about the new Turbo I4 making 270HP.

    Which variant of the Turbo I4 do we got for our 2.0T here?

    Which one has a better platform to make power on, the EA888 or EA133?

    Could have the same setup but there are for shore differences that make for that extra power. More boost and different engine internals.

    I have the EA113 in my A3, and IMHO the EA888 in my B8 A4 is the better engine. A lot of design issues were resolved in the EA888, like the PVC valve, cam followers, timing chain instead of belt, better fuel pump and the new piston DV (although I'm sure VAG has implemented this on all 2.0 TFSI's). Not saying the EA113 is bad by any stretch, but it sounds like VW was trying to speed the Golf R into the market by dropping in the EA113 from the S3 and TT-S. The high-output version of the EA888 is probably still being developed.

    So not exactly sure what VW is trying to tell C&D, sounds like they are blowing smoke up their asses.
