    Re: Forge Blow off valve

i wouldn't get one. i ran one in my A4, and it caused a couple of problems, including putting me into limp mode on the highway on a few occasions and sticking open a fair bit (yes i greased the shit out of it)

i'd go for a forge 004 if you want an upgraded DV, or a diaphragm type so no maintenance is required

I have the forge valve and the switchable spacer, pretty cool combo. the only problem I had was a leak in one of the hoses as it rubbed against something but no problems since. I can even change from having the puff sound or not at will. I have to say its a pretty nicely made setup.

    Re: Forge Blow off valve

i have it. i didn't like it at first but i get alot of compliments. it sounds very different from your hks, greddy type blowoff valves. i describe it as, if it came with a blowoff valve from the factory it would sound like this.

the only draw back is that it stays open for quite a bit (due to the DV). so sometimes when you let off usually for me right under boost. it just "whooshes" for like 3-5 seconds which sounds so dumb. but funny at the same time. under WOT it has this nice rip to it. sounds best under WOT

I too like the switchable BOV. I think it is the perfect solution. Sometimes you want to rip through it and sometimes you want to stealth. The switchable works for both!

We carry the standard Forge Blow Off Valve and the Switchable here, click click. We've sold both and have got great performance. I have personally installed both. They are very easily installed and both are top notch products. I prefer the switchable because having the choice is wonderful!

PM me if you have any questions.

    Re: Forge Blow off valve

ok i understand that the blow off valve give you no performance what so ever, but in a sense of modifications what is a better a blow off valve or a diverter valve? In other words what would be a better investment? what would be better for my car and what would "hurt" it less. Ive always been a fan of blow off valves and have had it on my GLI, GTI, and 1.8t jetta but now im trying to settle for something that will last more.

    what are your guys suggestion?

    Re: Forge Blow off valve

If you are a fan of the BOV then the switchable is going to be the way to go. You can select it to be partial recirculation and partial BOV so that your engine is getting the air it requires to function optimally. There is an ongoing debate about BOV vs. DV and which is necessary, etc. These switchable valves satisfy both sides of the argument.
