Question On PCV Valve & High Idle, Pic Inside

Hi all. I've developed a high idle on my 05.5 A4 2.0TQ and I've checked the vacuum lines for leaks/splits and can't find anything yet so I'm focusing my attention on the PCV valve. I took off the hose that leads from the PCV and found a coating of oil on the ends. Here's a picture of the hose. Does oil in the hose mean the valve is junk? Thanks for the help.

Your picture isn't working, but do you have any codes/CEL's/symptoms?

If you need a PCV, we have the individual valve (http://www.europaparts.com/audi-pres...6f129101l.html) or the whole kit with the required breather tube (http://www.europaparts.com/audi-a4-b...pdate-kit.html). Just note the VIN split.

Sorry, I'll try this again. If it helps, there's also pretty strong suction when I take the oil fill cap off. If I take off the PCV, will I be able to tell if it's toast?

I had oil in mine like that too. Think its normal. I got the BSH PCV fix now so i dont have to worry about the PCV at all.

If you remove the PCV and im not sure if you blow in it or suck in but it should not be able to do both.

Sounds kinda nasty but thats kinda how you check.
