    Bsr intake - worth it?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I just recently got my A4 and looking to buy a new intake. I've read the threads for the evom and the carbino, i was looking to purchase one of those. However, as i was looking around i came across ESE tuning website and they had a BSR Opti-Flow Filter System. Is this anything compared to the other 2 intakes? And worth the $200? Any help appreciated. Thanks

    Heres the link... http://www.esetuning.com/ProductDeta...ctCode=4900430

Re: Bsr intake - worth it?

are you asking is it worth the money for an intake? No intake is worth the money. I have carbonio and non of the intakes you are looking at is going to be "worth" it.

If you are wanting the sound and thats it, then any will do that, but if you are looking for performance, don't even think about spending money for it...

    imo,
the best intake that you can buy is a cone filter with Blinktek heat shield.

Don't know about that one in particular but if you are just going for the sound you can save a few bucks by fabricating your own. Here are a couple of ideas if you are interested. There are a bunch of other threads out there too. Good luck.

KN filter 034 TIH call it a day. Unless you really want that sound bad, then get drop some cash on carbonio.

I have the BSR Opti-flow with heat shield in my car. Sounds lovely! =)

(BSR are from Sweden btw, but I imagine the filter itself is not manufactured here)

I cannot believe that this thing will draw cold air from somewhere.Try this and you can understand why.Open the bonnet after some good sprints with your car and place your hand 30 centimetres above the turbo. You can fry eggs! I have a drop in free flow filter and the next mod that I will do is the hole on the airbox and the plastic fender inside. Free and soundable! Also gives something in terms of gains!

Bsr is from Sweden and work together with koenigsegg.
I have the filter and heatshield in my and works great.
They dont produce the filter by themselfs, just the heatshield.
    Filters are made by JR.

I just put a K&N drop-in and felt it made a nice difference for $50 but I also have supporting mods like a reflash and HFC.

There is a premade hole in the fender near the airbox, he must be planning on cutting a hole in the airbox to acually pull air in thru the fender?
