Air Purity Sensor From what i gathered the Air Purity/Quality sensor is located in the plenum chamber somewhere used mainly on the auto recirculate function (which audi recommends to use constantly). Does anyone have a pic of this sensor and where its located? I believe on 2003 and up it was removed. Mine is faulty, not a big importance to fix just wanted to know its function.
I have the Air Purity Sensor in my 2002. It hasn't worked in years.
It is supposed to detect when the air being drawn in is too dirty to breathe and automatically recirculate the air.
I used to think it ionizes the air somehow but when I looked at that tiny thing last month there is no way.
I would try and use MAF spray cleaner to try and bring it back to life but there is no CEL. I'm not worried.
It only shows up for me when I do a VAG-COM scan.
Not sure about what u mean with the Cabin Air Tem Sensor. That would seem straight forward to my mind. Measure and compare temps for the split-temp climate control system. It has to do that somehow... Maybe I'm missing something in ur question.
