    Wobble Bolts vs. Redrill

Have a quick question for you guys:

I have a set of 5x112 wheels and may be putting them on a 5x110 car. Also, the wheels are NOT hubcentric, so they will be fitted to the hub through the use of hubcentric rings.

In this scenario, should I go with a redrill or wobble bolts?

And before you say, "Wobble bolts seem unsafe" or "No problems" you need to understand I'm not asking about wobble bolts' reliability. My question is, since wobble bolts depend on a well centered wheel, am I ok using them on a wheel that depends on a hubcentric ring for its centering?

Do you mean 5x100?? if so I don't think wobble bolts would work since it's just for 5x112 to 5x114.3
so you will need a redrill in this case...
correct me if I am wrong

Well they aren't ONLY for 5x112 to 114.3 (or the other way around), but if it's 5x112 to 5x100 that't too big of a difference for wobble bolts.

Since the distance measures between the centers of bolt holes, 112 to 114.3 is actually just over 1 mm difference; which is why wobble bolts work. If you actually meant 112 to 110, it would be fine, but I've never heard of 5x110 wheels, so I'm going to assume you mean 100. In that case it would be a difference of 5 mm and that would be too big of a gap for wobble bolts. Go with a redrill, should cost around $150.

OK I am in fact talking about 5x110 wheels (saab). As for being able to use wobble bolts, yes you can use wobble bolts for up to a 2mm difference in bolt size. My question is if reliability with wobble bolts + hub centric rings is something to avoid. Thanks

    Re: Wobble Bolts vs. Redrill

From what I have seen on AZ and a few other forums, people have been running wobble bolts on 5x114.3 wheels with no problem at all... so I think that's pretty reliable.
The problem with hub rings is that some people get vibration with rubber hub rings, never seen anyone gets vibration issues with aluminum hubs... so I guess that's a better way to go
