2010 Audi TT RS

has anyone seen this? looks awesome. 5 cylinder turbo. 340 HP and 334 lb/ft torque. 6 speed tranny. I hope it comes to the states.

negative, probably will never become State-bound... emissions is too expensive for imports and plus they just stopped making the VR6 3.2 TT

I don't understand how emissions would stop it. It only puts less g CO2/km than the 3.2 did.

Audi stopped making the 3.2 after the 2009 MY for the following reasons:
1. it was costing more than Audi wanted to waste for the 3.2 pass emissions
2. 3.2 miles per gallon issue with the market

but here the thin, the TT-RS motor is a 2.5l VR5 not VR6 so thing is a completly new motor.

Talked to friend who is a manager at a dealership and he said he talked to audi canada and was told 50/50 chance so it is not yet a no. My bet is that audi canada is waiting for AoA.

Nope, it is a straight 5-cylinder engine with turbo of course. Here is a video of one revving up at an Audi meet I was to in July -09. The sound is astonishing!!

The engine is from the 5 cyclinder jetta from the US-market. Obviously totally revised and turbo'ed.

We started getting stock here in SA and it is totally wicked would have ordered this if it came in flappy paddle (not that I prefer flappy paddle - long story knee injury)

Yes, rumour say it even had test run with 600 hp (30-32 PSI) during development.

There really is such a thing as a VR5. But not in the TT-RS

Wow, Can't believe that this is cheaper to maker than a vr6?! Looks like a lot of extra room in there to me?! Though it may be stronger with all that extra meat in there.
