best place to buy laminate flooring??

well guys like the title says, where is the best place to get laminate flooring. I will be doing somewhere in the 17 to 1800sqft range and I want a minimum of 8mm and preferrably with a pre attached pad. I have seen some decent deals at lumber liquidators, which is nice cuz we have one right by us. Then of course there is lowes, where I can get a 10% discount. Finally there is build direct, they have great prices but we all know the concerns with purchasing things online and some of the product they have takes a month to deliver from what I understand. So where did you go, what brand floor, how do you like it? Thanks for all your help!!!

yeah Im definetly doin the install, ive done actual hardwoods before and did a few rooms with pergo. Thats the beauty of this stuff a monkey could install it

I got mine from Sams Club when my lower level got flooded. You can also try HOBO if you have one near you. They don't always have the same stuff so sometimes you can run into a really good deal.

When my dad and I refinished our basement we got our laminate flooring actually from costco. It came with the preattached pad as well as all of the plastic sealing (moisture barrier) to lay down first. It also came with the tool you need to tap them together. It all ended up being really easy. The hardest part was when we had to cut the boards to fit the dimensions, just remember to measure twice and cut once!

this will be my primary residence, its not now. Here is the readers digest version of the story real quick. My sis owned a townhouse but wanted to buy a house, I gave her money for the down payment on the house and now im taking her townhouse. she had dogs and they trashed the floors, literally trashed them. She just moved out last weekend and today after work im gonna go rip the carpet out of there and let it air out. Ahh this brings up another question...is there something I can put on the subfloor to cover the scent of her dogs so that way my dog does not think its ok to pee there also? ive heard a coat of paint will do it and ive also heard there is some sort of sealent that works?? My issue is the night I went to LL they had the st. james 12 mm stuff for 1.99 which I wanted but couldnt pull off right then and there and now they dont have any of that line for that price..doh!

well if you're going to the trouble of sealing/priming your subfloor to get rid of odor, then i certainly wouldn't put the carpet back down, even if it's aired out.
or am i confused.
is this once carpeted area now being laminated?

animal pee soaks into hardwood and can stay for a very long time.. try odoban its hardcore.... also if you are going to do it, do it pimp... most places offer financing.. i like this .

no carpet is going in the garbage. Laminate will be replacing the carpet. There is a room downstairs that was laminate but that was cheap thin laminate so thats getting replaced as well

remove any old glue from floor, sand, clean, soak with deodorizer, seal and put down you tile or hardwood flooring.

laminate is pretty barney basic to install. real wood flooring is a little different...

have you looked into ALL your flooring options?
even though laminate is cheap up front, you'll probably replace it once you have more funds (the main living areas).
it's been a long time since i've done this kind of work, but just make sure you do your research before you buy.
you may find an option that's not that much more than laminate.
