Like what was said, the turbos are soo small theres no need to rev that high. Power starts to fall off after about 5500, and even with K04s you wont really make power after 6500.
And when I was emailing GIAC about their programing for the 2.8, they said the engine itself runs out of breath after about 7500, so theres no point in spinning it faster, unless of course you start playing with heads.
And dont say that swmic, because depending on a cars powerband/gearing it pays to rev out more in one gear to put your self in teh sweet spot of the power curve for the next. Also can work the opposite, might be more efficient to short shift... Depends on the car.
I think an ideal shift point with these engines, turbo or N/A, is about 6-6500, no higher than that unless you have big mods.
